Report blames apartheid for violence

The black man is in power? If only that were the case. Take a look at the top companies of SA, most if not ALL have direct ties to EUROPE or elsewhere(mtn, vodacom, telkom(believe it), MultiChoice/Mweb)

Last week there was a post that showed the average wages and guess who still received the lowest wages/salaries? Ya...exactly. So the myth that the black man is in control of this country holds no weight. Dearly being controlled by the strings of the Europeans is what is going on here.

You can also look at who owns most of these mining and oil companies(yes, you guessed it), oh and on top of that, even the BANKS here in SA have all direct connection to Europe(this is one of the main problems!)

Getting a little off-topic here but there are certain people what Africa to remain Africa, the food-chain is not horizontal, it's vertical, someone has to be at the bottom(guess who?)

Slavery and apartheid lasted for awhile and the extent of that damage is still unknown. A lot of African countries have made progress especially Kenya, Egypt, Botswana, but we are missing something. We need to be united as one country, or at the very most 2-3. We have these borders here that were placed by who?(Europeans)

Do you notice that the most divided continent(too many countries) in the world is Africa and it is the poorest...Europeans liked this system but they have now introduced the European UNION pretty much meaning the countries are united(like the US)

Why can't we Africans do the same?(f'd up world eh?)

There is no way in hell the past is too blame for the violent crime we are seeing today. Easy excuse as usual and we are just another african country that blames the past. So easy to say o the white man made us kill and rape and that is all we know because of the white man.

Yet the anc supporters will be going o yea the bloody white man is the reason my baby was gang raped and left in a dumpster last year!!!! When you deal with this kind of logic there is no hope. Believe it or not it is black folk who take the brunt of violent crime, at least they can rest easy knowing it's the white mans fault.

Sorry dude: can you explain how hating a systemised government based on racism IN ANY WAY means I should support one of the most corrupt and evil dictators the African continent has seen in decades?

Amazing how the violence caused by apartheid went away during the SWC.
 
This constant living in the past is going to be the end of our country. Rather than pay 3.5 million rand to get a report written about crime, spend that on helping students get matrics and university degrees so that crime will decrease. But who am I kidding, getting a report to blame the past is much easier then trying to fix the present. If we continue to look into the past, we will never look towards to future and find ways to make it better.
 
There are to many problems to address.. And i believe it all starts at the top with the government!

One majour thing we need to look at is POPULATION CONTROL. We need to stop giving grants to every tom dick and harry who has a baby because thats the only reason they have a baby and in the end that baby hardly ever gets a proper education (not there fault).
We need to get rid of the high level of corruption
We need to start paying policemen decent salaries
We need to start paying teachers decent salaries and get the resouces to the schools (without the resources being stolen).

We have a lot of problem to fix...... good luck to who ever has that job..
 
Is this what happened to Mugabe ? He realised that while he ran Zim, he actually ran fu@k all.

But that still doesn't explain how he has a good few hundred million US dollars in Swiss bank accounts ?

I guess it boils down to culture. It is easier to accept being shafted by one of your own.

Excuse me, but the culture of violence were here LONG before the Europeans set foot on this continent.

By the way, I heard a rumour the illegal software downloads will be blamed on Apartheid next :rolleyes:

Many of these criminals are so young. They've been brought up and educated under ANC rule. Why all these criminal tendencies within them?

You can deny it ALL you want. This is the truth, it might hurt some of you for some reason but it is what it is. Go out there and start asking the black people yourself, let's see what results you get(ya, you guessed it, you are wrong.)

Know many historians walking on the streets? I sure don't. Nothing happened before apartheid...remember.
 
Well with all due respect it's not like the report's saying anything anyone didn't know already. The key thing is the quality of the solutions posed to fix them. Look at any society or generation affected by a major stumbling block. A good example is East Germany. As much as Germany might be unified now, there is still a massive discrepancy in the quality of education that east germans in even as young as 30 face. Any national policies have always had to be cognizant of that - unless the berlin wall coming down meant that a clean slate was magically granted.
Do a little research - see how they've handled the problems they are aware of, and then maybe bring some of that insight across to SA is my suggestion.
Of course whether the solutions implemented are good enough is a different discussion altogether, surely ignoring the past is well...impractical.
 
Honestly do you not think 40-50 years of Apartheid did any damage? It left us with millions who are unskilled, uneducated, and unprivileged. Erasing the deleterious effects of Apartheid will take decades, and the longer the education system is ****ed up the longer it will take.

Again, you can DENY IT all you want, you can try to shape your reality to whatever you see fit but the people will tell you what THEY KNOW, end of story.

You can go ahead and have a cup of tea with your "historians". This is the truth buddy and I guess it really does hurt.
