You don't have freedom to say whatever you want in the US. There have always been limitations on what can and cannot be said. For example a direct call to action is not protected speech. Nor should it be.

We're not talking about those exceptions though. We're talking about a JD Vance meme that clearly falls within that freedom of speech amendment. The US government has declared through that amendment that it considers that speech protected.

My point is that the US government are the ones saying freedom of speech is important. Then they go ahead and act against people who have acted within the ambit of that freedom of speech amendment. It's hypocrisy. Nothing consistent about it.

We're talking about someone sharing a JD Vance meme. To argue that means they hate your people and values is insane. One comes across as thoroughly unhinged when making that argument.

Criticising a president, or any other prominent figure, does not mean you hate everything a country stands for. I criticise Zuma all the time. Doesn't mean I hate SA.

You just don't get it and that's fine. People should be more hypothetical in the way you define it. I allow my own family way more than I do for strangers. Other people can do whatever they want in their own home not in mine and if they talk shít about me they are just not welcome even though I am pretty much a free speech absolutist.

I have stated several times in this thread that I condemn the shooting and that nobody deserves to be killed for their views. The fact that you interpret that to mean that I approve of his killing, demonstrates just how far down the ideological drain you have fallen and how incapable of rational thought you are.

You would be only too happy if someone who you disagreed with ideologically was taken out and would probably defend that without the slightest sense of irony.
