Rocketnet - feedback?

once again speeds are terrible with jerky international browsing and youtube buffering continuously on 100/100 fiber
Hi electrofreeze,

As per telephonic discussion earlier today. I have logged a fault with Vumatel to have your CPE replaced to see if this will resolve the issue.

Vumatel ref: ISP-86939

I can confirm that we have checked all on our side and not issues found.

We have requested you to please provide us with more information as to what you are using your network for, you have declined to provide this information.

You have declined us permission to remote to a workstation on your network to troubleshoot and assist to find this issue.

I hope and trust that you will find this in order.

Thank you.

Hi Electrofreeze,

Please can we request that you perhaps change your router as well.

You are not obligated to use the router we have supplied, you can use any router of your choice. I have and can confirm that you are using the TP Link.

We need to check and troubleshoot all options.

Please let me know.

Thank you,

Hi Elecrtrofreeze,

Thank you for this information.

Please let me know once Vumatel has made contact to arrange for the CPE to be replaced.

If this does not resolve the issue, you will need to give us more information to be able to assist.

Thank you,

our network is fine up to the isp handover and is working at full speed as per vumatel therefore the problem is on your international side as you can not handle the fast 100/100 fiber specially in peak time and at the end of the month

then you must sort it out with vumatel as they say the problem is not with them it is with the service provider
like i told you when the problem starts it can be any time and everything inernational just slows down like this last week youtube keeps on buffering and browsing is at a snail pace with pages timing out
we reported this on the 18 august 2018 and was told by ronald to contact Richard at directel and up to now nothing has been done about it
this was when your network collapsed at teraco in cape town and afterwards has never been the same
please stop making excuses and sort out the problems
people on the slow packages dont see these problems so easely but on the 100/100 and up it is easy to see

Hi Electrofreeze,

The above information regarding our network is not accurate and I can confirm that our network has never collapsed.

Please can we arrange for one of our engineers to come onsite and check.

Thank you,

i have the mail from Richard explaining to me what happened on that date to the Directel network which you are using at teraco so i suggest you sort it out with him as it is obvious someone does not know what is going on

Lol dude.. you still at it. It can't be thaaat bad if you're still with them after months of battling surely?

How so? Wouldn't it be the other way round for low-life's like us on 10/10?

If you got 100/100 and there is a speed issue, you will not be the first to notice issue even if you get 25/25. Of course, if you look at speed test all the time, then you will notice issues - that I understand.

Rocketnet (on MFN) have been generally good this year. At least for us.

I would agree with you but anecdotal evidence on this thread seems differ.
I'm on 20/20 (Vumatel) and getting speeds just slightly above that so i'm overjoyed - guys i know on 50/5 and 50/50 same very happy with service.
but seems the 100+ guys are the ones that seem to notice a slow down -

yes, but that is what I don't get. How do 100/100 guys notice a slow down unless they are actively looking for it. Would one really notice it if you are browsing and it drops from 100/100 to 50/50 or 25/25 ? Or is it that they have got a download target (movies etc) that they are not able to achieve overnight ?

I suppose only rich people can answer this one. :p

- I only do that when I can't browse - only did once or twice this year. Quite a credit to MFN & rocketnet - they have my 1 vote.

when you have a 20 line you get 20 no problems but when you have a 100 line and you get 20-50 it is very easy to see as the speed can not go above that
the 100 and above just cant give full line speed as there is not enough bandwidth specially in peak time
at the end of the day we are paying for a 100/100 line and would like to get speeds close to that and last year there was no problems

I reported it on livechat. After sending them a traceroute to London, they basically told me it's the speedtest server that's faulty and sent me a screenshot of their Gigabit connection only getting 3Mbps to London.
