Well yes and no. It forwards DD+ to an amp but I am looking for something that converts dd+ to dd as my amp doesn't do DD+.

When I ordered one, I ordered a Roku " bundle " and delivery to my address was rejected. After much sobbing, I tried to order again but only the Roku (no extras). Delivery address was accepted.
I think the "extras" are where the terms and conditions have a problem.

Well the WD live does it, but I don't like the interface of Netflix so I moved to Roku. There are HDMI audio splitters, which convert Audio and forward it through optical. I am hoping the the Fire has the codec to convert.
I have 4x1 hdmi switch with optical out. Unfortunately the switch doesn't convert to from DD+ to DD so all I get is silence playing netflix in surround mode.
I'll have to see if there is a switch/convertor/splitter that can convert DD+ to DD.

I did some research into it and unfortunately it won't convert DD+ into DD and stream it down the optical.
I will continue looking for a cheaper alternative to replacing my amp.
Ok, so I have given up on the whole DD+ to DD conversion. I decided to get one of these bad boys to replace my 10 year old Yamaha RX-V440.

Yes, I tried my luck and it allowed it. I also added a HDMI cable to the order but it wouldn't allow that. So I can import an AV receiver but not a hdmi cable?!?
Lets hope it isn't a mistake and they cancel the order later on.

It depends which supplier it comes from, some suppliers ship internationally and some don't.
Read the fine print:
You shouldn't get a cancellation. Try ordering the HDMI cable separately.
