If some of you are familiar with my posts you may think that im very well cursed and it looks like bad luck or whatever has struck again (no pun intended).

This year:

-My PSU blew and took my mobo with it. - Insurance replaced it
-My phone line had a fault , it took 2 months to fix, it was fixed 2 weeks ago.
-Last night we had quite a big thunder storm, router popped right in front of me and now my phone is very noisy, FML

Is there any way they will replace my router due to "acts of god"

I don't think you can claim on lightning damage unless you can prove you were adequately protected (surge/lightning protector). I could be wrong though.

I doubt your insurance excess is less than a new router...

Same happened to me last night, my Pace VDSL router bit the dust.

Anywhere in Joburg where I can get a cheap VDSL modem or router today ?

I don't really want another Pace.

Just buy a cheapie, like the D-Link DSL-2500U.

Then it's no biggie when it pops again.

You are not cursed. Maybe you have to strong connection with destruction forces, something you can work on. :)

I suggest a DSL-2750U. Those things are resilient and also pretty cheap.

Is it a N300 router because my current router is a DGN2200V4, and i would like to get the same spec router if they dont replace it.

And that's why you should unplug your stuff when there's a thunderstorm >.<

:D Yup!
I used to work for a retail IT company back when 56k dial-ups were mankinds only real connection to the world.
We used to call this time of year modem season and stock up. You get one big thunderstorm and the next morning everyone's buying a new modem.

But even a distant strike on your line can kill your device and you not always home when there a storm a brewing.

I have a DSL-2750U. Bought a TP-Link for the gigabit lan ports. Tell me if you interested.
