I am here to ask for some legal advice concerning my dealings with RSAWeb the last couple of months, as well as to warn everyone from dealing with them.

This all started a couple of months ago when I joined RSAWeb because of their free installation and 1-month free deal. It all started great, my first 3 days was perfect. I was getting 50meg up and down local and international servers on speedtest.net. Then my international speeds went completely bad, like down to 2-5 meg bad. I work from home for a company based in Australia, so this was really bad news for me.

In a desperate attempt to get enough speed to get some actual work done, I upgraded my account about a week later to a 100meg line. My local speeds shot up to 100meg, which was epic, but unfortunately, my international speeds were a complete joke. It was clearly not a speedtest server issue as my friend received his full speeds on the international UK server from Afrihost.

After struggling like this for a week I officially cancelled my service with them on Friday the 13th of Sep. They confirmed with a response and everything seemed fine from what I have could figure out. They then told me it would take one month because of the one month notice period. They then went and billed me for the month of October, which should have been my free month...

In the meanwhile, I have been trying to still get them to fix the speeds because I am stuck on their network. They apparently couldn't let me leave to someone else even though I was more than willing to still pay them. At this point I was very upset with them, I had to constantly phone them about progress on tickets, as they just ignored all the tickets from that point on out. At one point I started phoning them and asking for the manager, as I want them to just cancel everything and at that point, and I wasn't willing to pay the cancellation fees, as they are the sole reason why I needed to move to a different ISP.

With them just keeping the ignore mode on, I decided to phone them about 3 to 4 times on separate days, to confirm that my contract is, in fact, being cancelled at the end of October. With all of them first not seeing the cancellation ticket, and then when I tell them the ticket number, they suddenly find it. I was so sure that they would cancel the service. Surprise surprise, they kept me hostage on their network for another month.

At this point, I phoned them and asked them for all of my voice call recordings, as they record all of them. This was about a month ago. They keep telling me they will send the voice recordings but they never do. Probably because all of this is recorded and evidence of their incompetence is clearly on record.

Sorry for this long post, I have saved all of the emails going back and forward from the first moment, and I am currently still waiting for those voice recordings. I have all of the local and international speedtest results saved. They have deducted the cancellations fees from my account today which was over R2k. Even though I cancelled my service in Septemeber. How do I proceed with this? Can I take them to small claims court to get my case heard? I feel like I am being bullied by this corporation, and any attempt to actually speak with them and sort this out ends up with them just ignoring me. I am completely lost at this point.

Lodge a complaint with ISPA. ISPA is surprisingly fast and you will likely have answer before Friday.

Supersonic pulled the same move with me. They were unable to provide me with what I was paying for and it wasn't a fibre provider issue because once I switched it was fine.

Only when I logged a complaint with ISPA Supersonic started listening before that they just ignored me.

Lodge the complaint with ispa and absolutely insist that they get you the recordings (they don't record, they are lying) so you'll nail them on that part.

Hi there,

So sorry about your ongoing issues. We have escalated them to management and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible to get them resolved! Could you please DM us your contact number and the name the account is under so we can start working on this straight away.

Thank you for the response @SuperHero Sarah , I will be in contact with you and really hope we can sort this out civilly as this is a pain point for me now, I was forced to get Rain internet at the same time just so that I can earn my salary (I couldn't move to a different provider). Will update this thread as things progress.

No. YOU try to hard. Give it a rest already. You are worse than the cool ideas/crystal web fanbois.

Do not give me crap on a public forum and tell me that "I" try too hard... I try hard because I've seen the company that RSAWEB is and I believe in what they stand for - I've spent time with the staff, they are an awesome bunch.

You need to keep in mind that I have been with many ISP's from OpenWeb, WebAfrica, MWEB - hell, name them all - and they are all the same so I know what it's like to have a ISP who only cares about your money coming in.

How am I worse than the fanbois? They post online how amazing the company is and that is that - if you bring an issue to my attention - I try and help you - I'm not all talk - I want to help because I know 'no one' is perfect - I've seen it so many times how people attack a company because they;

a) haven't followed the necessary in reporting the issue - or hell, they haven't even reported the issue yet they complain
b) are KAK rude to the staff.
c) the issue isn't actually X problem, it's Y problem but they can't get that point across.

And various other situations - I won't even tell you how many times "I" have gone to RSAWEB clients in my area to sort them out and the problem was USER error and had nothing to do with RSAWEB at all but they refuse to apologize online because then THEY will look like idiots.

I'm chuffed that finally RSAWEB has a presence on MyBB and they will do their best to sort out clients and if I must assist, then gladly - I don't mind - so first let RSAWEB assist @vetkaashaas before you come with your kak comments of "Dodge as fck." - you can't knock something till you've tried it here you are making a kak comment about something you don't know anything about.

There is no ISP in existence as you describe. Like banks, you choose the lesser of the evil in the bunch.
And yes, its always the customer's fault isn't it?
Some of us have been around the block, many times.

We all have yes - but first let them at least try before you jump down their throats.

How can you escalate something when you don't even know who the person is having the problem?

Biggest load of bullshitting I've ever seen.
