You can replace the CPU, MB, RAM & add SSD or the whole PC.

You don't say what you use it for or what your budget is.

No GPU...

If you don't have a GPU then you'll need a CPU with onboard gfx until you can buy a dedicated GPU for gaming, something like this as an example.

This won't handle AAA games well.

I'm not worried about w GPU now as I will get one at a later stage. I will be using my gt1030 temporarily until I save up after i upgrade my pc

In that case scrap my 5600g suggestion above.

With the change you can get a 500GB nvme ssd although 1TB would be better, dunno what your existing sttorage is.

Serious question and not making fun here but what games are you playing on a 1030 or on onboard graphics?

Are you only starting gaming now or have you been playing games for a while?

I see now what you saying
I think its 2 x std drives of 500Gig each,it sounds better to go for 2x ssd drives and then a good mid range GPU

Anything from Arma 3
Call to Arms Gates of Hell
to the early DCS World
Silent Hunter(Sub Sim)
Strategy and Simulation games....

I'm playing older games. I have plenty of steam purchases that I'm going through. I use to have a ryzen 3 gaming pc with the old 6gb gtx1060 but that got stolen. This was 2 years ago and haven't built up a pc since.

I play strategy and simulation but at the end of the build when I can afford my GPU which I will look for a 2nd hand rtx3070. It will mainly be flight simulator. I will most likely go with the i5 12400f or 12500

The good news is i will be able to purchase my new upgrade month end as i have sold my current pc. I will also need to purchase a complete tower(no gpu) as i wont have a tower to upgrade. My budget has also increased to 10k now.

I might find something decent on carbonite for 10k

Depends on whether you have a retail or oem license key.

Oem license key

Nope.

Get a key from Jack_Bauer_ZA over on Carbonite for R150 or R200 in the classifieds here.

There's another way but too much hassle really.
