S5 vs iPhone 6 plus

Seriously? For what? I thought the forum administrators encourage these IOS vs android threads that drag out for weeks and drive up forum traffic exponentially?

I think it was the few pointless posts they made confirming each other's entitlement to a different opinion.

No one looks to be annoyed or upset with the other though.

Hell, if Postman and myself flew under the radar with our arguments, then I can't see much happening here

Yes. The forum is all the richer for yours and PP's banter.

With lively debate comes substantiated and informative counter arguments which add value to the topic at hand.

Guys, I'm sorry to say it, but you'll be both getting infractions from morkhans very soon.

I did something similar and got a infraction for "trolling, disrupting the forum"....and it never expires.

Delete the thread and disappear.

If that were to happen it would be very disappointing. I was actually saying to myself this afternoon, how well behaved both factions have been....both sides putting their point of views across, without insulting or fighting. It has been a healthy debate, which is what this forum is (should be) all about.

PS. If this topic were a school debate.....I would say that Fanie narrowly won the debate :)

They say the next world war will be fought over water. I reckon it will be fought between droid and apple fanbois!
I will take a screenshot of my infraction and send it to you.

Not kidding folks.

Why?

It's been a healthy discussion without any type of insulting. I've been following the thread the whole day as it's been quite interesting seeing a level headed discussion for once.

Quite different from the drunken argument in the s5 thread that was started by the same link from op :)

Thread makes me sad :(

Does someone need to report the post for mods to come down?
Or could a particular strict mod just hand out justice because?

Ok great - show is on again today then?

Being little Friday I'm not super super productive

Anything that requires Xposed. Bootloaders. Custom roms. The ability to run the most up to date version of android and manufacturer features.....Oh wait that's not customising is it? How do you classify 'jumping through hoops to get it to do what should be taken for granted?'

Why do you place such emphasis on what for most people is a very niche feature? But yeah you do for sure.

OK. You have a point. There is probably a difference between personalize and customize. Personalize is what you do with an unrooted device. Customize is when you start getting into Xposed modules and custom roms. Agree?

And I see where you are going with the "jumping through hoops" comment. I don't agree. Customizing (in the sense as above) your device is having it work to exactly what you want. A lot of customization is about personal preference. Do you think the iPhone is in its most perfect form and don't need any kind of tweaking?

Ok for the people that are debating IOS and Android.

I have a dilemma if you could help.

I was dead set on getting a Z3 when I upgrade in December, but the 6+ looks like the first Apple phone worth getting.

Maybe can you enlighten on some pros/cons that i may not know about?

I have no need for itunes and want to be able to plug my phone in and just copy stuff over like normal. Will I be able to jailbreak on day 1 so i can achieve this?

Z3 has 3GBs RAM and the 6 only 1GB. I know with a closed system you can optimize better, but I'm worried next year 6scomes out with 2GBs RAM. Can you allay my fears?

Besides that all I really use my phone for is browsing the net and watching Youtube.

That focus pixel tech on the 6+ looks ****ing amazing and the optical image stabilization and the slw mo stuff at 240fps looks awesome too.

Help me please.

PS I have used Android for the last 4 years.

You know android. So no need for me or any other pro-android to convince you to stay. Looks like you need someone from the iOS stable to convince you to go over to the other side. Not really the right thread for this. Start a new one in the apple/ios side of the forum.

Not really, not in the way you can with Android. The file system is just too complex. Finding an individual file location is a huge effort because it's all segmented per app. In iTunes getting files in and out is drag-drop per application. So to get a movie onto VLC, you drag-drop into the VLC window in the apps section of your device in iTunes either wired in or wirelessly, on any version of iTunes. Or you can use a browser login to your VLC application. Only the music collection really needs to sync with 1 device, so you need to get used to that. There are other app alternatives to iTunes also.

iOS is much more aggressive than Android at managing memory. I find myself running into memory limitations with 2gb on the G2 when I never noticed it being an issue on the iPad.

Don't follow just on-paper specs. I would recommend doing a bit of homework into the apps you're currently using and whether or not they are on iOS. Your phone is a tool at the end of the day and if it doesn't meet all the criteria rather stay with what you have.

Thanks for this.

So that means if I'm visiting a friend I can't say just plug in my phone to copy things over quickly. Hmmm.

Edited:
Then on the topic of Itunes accounts.

Create ZA or US one?
