S5, Who has pre ordered?

Pre ordered

Delivery date is supposed to be 11'th (I'll modify my post if it arrives then).

Also just put this here to get an idea of what the chances are that I actually receive it on the 11'th
 
Iv pre ordered mine ,but I highly doubt it will arrive on the 11th .Normally I prefer to do it in store ,but I had a credit with Vodacom due to me returning two Sony Z1's for exactly the same issue and both were brand new out of the box .

I'm still not 100% convinced on the S5 ,but after my last bad experience with Sony I wont be purchasing another Sony (well not for a while anyway) . There was also not much else out there besides the S5 right now (That's available on Vodacom) and I was only given 30 days to use the Credit for the Z1 after refusing a 2nd replacement (would have been the 3rd Z1 in the space of a month basically) .

I am a little annoyed that I wont be getting the Free Gear 2 with my S5 , its apparently not available on Upgrade deals even though it says nothing about this on their website . So ill have to settle for the Free S View cover ,though I doubt ill use it as I have one on my Note 3 and I find it a bit annoying when taking pics . Also No Blue available apparently .

so i also pre-ordered with Vodacom, and the CC agent told me that they are only doing the S5 with the s-view cover and 1GB data

apparently when my hubby pre-ordered, the lady told him the following :

NEW CONTRACT - option of gear 2
EXISTING SUBSCRIBER (NEW LINE) - Gear Fit
EXISTING SUBSCRIBER (UPGRADE) - s view cover

so because i dont have a line with Vodacom i decided to pre-order, and then the dude told me that i cnt get any gear and that only the cover and the data, i was kinda pissed and then tweeted Vodacom to find out.... I called on Friday again, and now the story is, that the pre-order special is only valid for the first 100 approved customers.

what a load of bull crap if you ask me,

needless to say, i am pre-approved with FNB, and will be getting the s5 on Friday at the branch for R399.
 
Someone must have really screwed up or it is because of the fact that I got in there very early but my upgrade quote includes a gear 2.

You are very lucky indeed then , I spent a good deal of time trying to argue my point that it does not state any where that it is for new contracts only ,even spoke to a supervisor . In the end though they refused so I ended up having to take the S5 with S view cover . I am actually seeing this more and more from Vodacom to be honest ,even in stores .Incredible connection had a Note 3 plus Gear for R429 a couple of weeks back and when my wife went as she had an upgrade due they refused her and said its for new lines only . It seems that all the really good deals are now reserved for New Contracts which is actually rather sad as you would think that Vodacom would want to reward and retain their existing Customers who want to renew their contracts .

Honestly had I not been in a hurry to use this Credit I have with Vodacom from the Z1 I returned then I would have waited before upgrading or even went in store , but I had 30 days to use the credit from the Z1 . I was originally going to go for the S4 with Gear deal as they had it at R399 , but even that they have no stock of I was told when I called .
its a pity they did not have the S5 in blue either as I would have preferred that .
 
I am preparing myself for an uphill battle but will see on delivery day.
 
May the force be with you @ astro... i am keen to know if anyone on here got the s4 and gear2 combo from Vodacom??

you right @connor the false advertising leaves a very bitter taste , I tweeted the crap out of it, and they kept on ignoring my tweets, and eventually i tweeted to ask if they were ignoring me, they replied to say that will speak to procurement about it....

haven't come back yet!
 
If there is nothing in the fine print in terms of 1st 100 customers anywhere, then you shouldn't stop at querying this. It's nonsense from them
 
Just got the call from Vodacom regarding my preorder. They confirmed what has been said here already, the offer was only for new contracts and only for the first 100. So no deal. Furthermore they will not be offering the S5 Gear 2 combo but only the Gear Fit. So I see me moving to MTN in my close future as a result. I was happy with Vodacom up to now, but that's just silly...

Rather wait for Telkom Mobile to release their pricing and packages.

You can use MTN's network, without having to deal with them at all = pure win. :D

Well iv just cancelled my upgrade with Vodacom for the S5 , I was going to just leave it ,but I am rather annoyed with the whole Gear 2 and Gear Fit thing being only for new contracts .Iv tried arguing with them as No where does it specify for New contracts only and in all honesty I find their Marketing of this Special to be rather deceitful . Basically its rather a kick in the face to be told sorry its only for new contracts , we don't really value your renewal enough or return business . Personally I think its a rather bad attitude to have because they should be trying to retain business ,it makes no sense pulling in new customers if you are loosing old customers at the same time .

This is the second time in the last 3 months we have had this as we had a similar issue with Incredible connection when my wife went there to renew . So enough is enough , ill see what Telkom has to offer on the S5 and ill take my business elsewhere . To think iv been giving Vodacom my hard earned money and business for the last 14 years only to be treated like this , oh well it was clearly time for a change . Here's hoping Telkom will have a good offer available with a nice data allowance .

At my house it's Vodacom or nothing. :(
 
After the flimsy S3, and Samsung's pathetic software (Kies), I'm not sure I'm going with Samsung again.
