Surging would be a reach there Champy,

When your options are the ANC, PAC, Al-Jamah and a random independent basically all the choices are crap.
But also that ward happens to be part of the Amathole district municipality, which further confirms the fact that the ANC is becoming a rural party at a rapid rate.
Not my word.

Ahhhh, interesting. I'm not entirely sure he was using it in the way you seem to think if he was referring to your NewNP/GLM though.
Back in the Moonshot days he would post a poll here and comment how much the DA or Moonshot support is surging, but as you can see no surging ever happened. So I am using it exactly in the manner he used it.

Ahhh, well that is progress, at least you are finally accepting that your NewNP/GLM is at best a 40% party now.

Let us call it NP145 in honor of 145 racist laws. That way it is easy to highlight a specific message we want to propagate.

Nah, I prefer the NewNP/GLM moniker... its more descriptive of the reality of the progress and development of that political party

145 racist laws have made you resort to renaming tactics of Africa. How the might of western civilization has fallen. One weeps.

Ahhh but we merely have to adapt to prevailing conditions my learned friend. How else do we communicate effectively as a community?

The ANC gained a ward yesterday, the numbers don't lie mnganam, retaining the wards you already had with a reduced majority means you are declining, gaining new wards means you are surging, as my good friend Mustafa would say.

Ja/nee. Not really that impressive when you compare it to the 2024 provincial result where there were no independents. Also the ANC is very dominant in that municipality anyhow. Enjoy winning much smaller rural wards while losing the far more influential and larger urban population.

Just for comparison: ANC won with a higher percentage than the DA won its ward, but the ANC only achieved 1257 votes compared to the 2 382 votes of the DA.

Fortunately her worshippers are all the way in Western Cape and cannot vote in Joburg.
Gazing at my crystal ball, I see Helen zille as mayor already. I can also read future posts about you vanishing for 3 weeks after election.

I get all the rural and urban ward thing and the numbers associated with them, but the irony here is that the DA was crowing about increasing its support, while they got 70% in a 16% turnout, wa bona bomeneme ke ntho e joang?

Oh, and by the way, I now realise where my Goat from Oudshoorn got the surging from. 😂
