Wrong, there is also something called paid membership, those are people you are almost guaranteed will vote for you, growth in membership means growth for the party.

That is why ActionSA is more obsessed about growing its membership, voters are fickle, members are more loyal, members are the base any proper political party is built on.

Yeah, at least if they were prepared to put in the dirty work, but it seems they think their history is enough.

I've literally heard of no-one measuring the performance of a political party through growth in membership. Indeed in the UK in 2019, the Labour party had far more members but lost the election.
 
When all else fails, celebrate filling potholes and road markings and set your MSM dogs on your GNU partners.

All the while, not a single delegation or representative in the US discussing tariffs or AGOA in 3 months. Rather build pit toilets and hail this as leadership success. They must think the people of SA are stupid.

Gaslighting and whataboutism won't buy the ANC enough time and it is a currency that has run dry.

As others have mentioned, this is just plain wrong and not supported by any evidence.

In any case by your logic, the ANC just lost 50% of its support.

Ok let’s go with your logic. The ANC is dropping to 20% and AuctionSA is growing by how much? Have they had a press release on the increase in their paid membership numbers?

To be honest I’d very happy if you were correct.

Firstly, the nonsense you have just typed is your logic, own it and don't make it mine.

Let me explain how the concept of membership work and how does it relate to the party support.

Firstly, having 1 million members doesn't necessarily translate to 1 million votes, the ANC at its strongest had just over a million members yet they got over 10 million votes, even now with it's numbers having gone down, they still got over 6 million votes, it simply implies at your worst you are more likely to at the very least get votes more or less equal to your members, so keeping this number up is what everyone strives for.

Members are like ambassadors for your brand, the more you have of those, the most likely it that people will buy into your brand. Members are more likely to recruit others to join, it's not a complicated concept.

The reason the EFF is so resilient is because of strong membership.

Has ActionSA had a press conference to announce their membership, no idea.

So then membership numbers are irrelevant like everyone else is pretty much telling you by your own admission with this post.

And the ANC are clearly pretty shyte at keeping their numbers up with 200k collapse in membership figures.
