So a new reality sets in with 30% tariffs as the useless ANC minister in charge, Parks Tau, has done bugger all to reduce it.
It's Trump, it could still change. He's given himself 7 more days to "think". SA's agriculture, automotive and steel/aluminum won't avoid tariffs. It'll kill off the aluminum industry who supply the likes of Tesla. They'll never eat 50%.

Actually quite a few countries or economic unions like the EU obtained large cuts to their tariffs because they actually negotiated properly. Doing nothing was clearly a sub optimal choice.
You keep insisting they did nothing but the reports I see suggest they offered quite a lot and removed protections against US farmer dumping their subsidized **** here for pork and poultry including allowance for their diseased meats. And it looks like the negotiators on US side dont know what the Whitehouse might do even if they agreed to frameworks. Trump is chaos.

Aluminum? Didn't take you for a yank...

Yeah I did, but I'm a Soutie, so we were sorta second class citizens as well you know.
I am devastated to know you had no access to beach and had to carry dompass.

And now you have to suffer 145 racist laws of ANC government. Allah hasn't been kind to you.

@TheChamp - can we do something about this guy who suffered 2 apartheids ? Let us talk in shebeen later tonight.

Allah has been decidedly unkind to us Empire Builders...

I mean we invented Concentration Camps, but those damn Afrikaaners were too strong even for that heinous invention.

People need to stop parroting nonsense like Government is just sitting on their hands not doing anything. We've sent proposals and been engaging with the US for months. They rejected the first proposal and SA came back with a new one but have not heard anything since.

This is AgriSA CEO talking about these "negotiations". Listen from 11:00.

I see now those vile dudula clowns plan to move to schools after their illegal hospitals blockades. I would support immigrants giving them a hiding. Violence seems to be the only thing that makes the slumbering SA government take action.

The right wingers are not fans of AgriSA so they will reject that.

He was afraid to grovel too much as The Orange One could add 10% on top, so doing nothing was the best thing he could do under the circumstances.
Doing nothing was not a choice. In this case it was just pure laziness and dont give a **** attitude
