Plenty of middle class blacks in Gauteng vote for the DA. Not the ones who work for government, I hasten to add. Also while tribalism is strong in KZN, the ANC lost 15% as well in Gauteng which is a less tribal province.

And most of that 15% was lost to MK, no?

If they unite behind anyone it'll be the EFF. They share almost the same formal policy. MK's policy is "uBaba says so"...

To give themselves a chance they can try to convince Vavi and Amcu to form a united front, then at best they could be kingmakers in a couple of municipalities, local elections are the best launch any party can hope for, it's so easy to make something out of nothing.

The SACP didn't really impress in their by-election debut a few weeks ago although to be completely fair to them, it was in Malema's home town, so not the best venue. I'd be interested to see their results on platinum belt around Rustenberg, for example.

Who knows? It was never said which type of blacks would run a country into the ground so it's much easier to avoid parties with too many blacks in them, like the DA.
