As an extra kick in the nuts for the Republic, Cyril appoints an "independent" person as Acting Minister (according to section 91.3c of the Constitution), only to reveal that he used to be ANC MEC for Community Safety in GP.

Firoz Cachalia has been appointed as acting Minister of Police. He's the current chairperson of the National Anti-Corruption Advisory Council.

A very good and a well considered appointment under the circumstances.

Actually properly suspending Mchunu and not just putting him on leave would be a start.

And commission of inquiry don't exactly have the best reputation here (HINT: recommendations never implemented).
