SA Post Office Strike

May I ask how you found out?

I'm still getting the response of "Sorry it appears your parcels have not been scanned in yet".

Is that code for gone?

It states my package has been in transit from witpos for umm 4 months ?:P So yeah it most likely got torched or pissed on.

Do you folks think not having my car license disk up to date and blaming it on the Post Office strike is ok :D

I know there are alternatives to get it but I'm lazy like that :/

Hi guys, so glad to hear parcels are starting to move! :) I'm so paranoid to give out my tracking number to a thrid party site, is it safe? And if so is there anywhere I can find out where my EMS parcel is, if it is in Durban I'd love to just go pick it up. Thanks!

EMS is usually insured for full value and requires an ID check and signature at collection. So you should be safe.

Finally got some mail in our Post Box today. About twenty letters, invoices and bills.

Well got a thumbsucked charge on my one parcel of used lego replacement parts worth nothing and definitely not paying for it, they can shove it up their you know what.

First they make me wait 2-3 months for the parcel and now they want me to pay so they can keep striking.

The Tariff code they used was 95.03 - Tricycles, Scooters, Pedal cars etc. anyone see lego train tracks fitting any of those?

I can only imagine what mine will be, tariffs are supposed to be value*0.382 from an article I read but I doubt they will be accurately calculating these, mine are "still not in the country" which is worrying since I have no idea if that means lost. Also in that article I read that they could even use the value of locally available products to calculate the tariff.... :/

Send it back for re-assessment.

I hope you get better luck than I did and I am sure they in Joburg by now

Send it back for re-assessment.

What I am planning to do, do I have to call customs to arrange it or just tell the Post Office?

Thankfully the guys at Capemail are more fair and considerate. :)

cr@p. You should have refused at the PO and asked them to return it for re-assessment. Calling SARS is your best bet now.

:p should have a bit late now then

Will try calling Durban customs as they do the evaluations, not like they will do anything as they cannot tell the difference between a box with cards and a shoebox.

A parcel I ordered yesterday has already arrived in Cape Town EMS but the ones in Oct not, so annoying, not sure if I should claim on them or if they will pitch up.
