SA Post Office Strike

Last years post office strike in Oct 2014 items arrived at Postal Services in jhb 2 Oct and arrived at Postal services in CTN on 15 Jan 2015. African time at its best and worst of all, affirmative shopping had me lose some of my goods.

I bought some stuff from Switzerland on 6jan15. The supplier had to resend on the 6feb using Swiss post (priority) On the second attempt they provided a waybill. You can see the item leaving Switzerland and going to Germany on 09 feb. It then leaves Germany but after that no further updates in the website.

My guess is that it's sitting at the post office. Is there anyway to check?

You are jumping the gun here.
Did you see how long some of us waited?

And you're trying to track a parcel from a few weeks ago.

In this modern age certainly. Just go to the post office. :) It's probably sitting at JIMC though and not the PO.

Kudos to Monica from JIMC for prompt (~7h) feedback :)

This makes no sense. Where the heck is my parcel?

What about this one :

1) Shipped on 2 Dec 2014 from China

2) Incomming International (sic) 23 Jan 2015 09:36 - JIMC

3) In transit 20 February 2015 20:10 - JIMC

4) ???

But I have parcels going back to July that I have not received.

Haha, maybe we can get a postal ombudsman?

We have such a nice liberal constitution filled with beautiful progressive things.... then again govt accountability when pursuing progressive ideals is not something progs yearn for. :)

EMS is working faster this week than last week.

Item arrived in JHB yesterday. Arrived in CPT this AM. Was out on the road by the early afternoon.

How the hell does that work? I've had my two EMS packages sitting at customs in Cape Town for over a week now with no way of contacting anyone to find out how I can get my packages. Frikkin EMS! Not airmail. There should not be delays once it gets to Cape Mail.

How do I contact Cape Mail to find out why my EMS packages are just sitting at custom in Cape Town? Or anyone who can help?

I am still waiting for a parcel that left the US in September..... :(

So after the parcel has been at JIMC for a month, I phone like a good citizen to inquire about the parcel.
The Gentleman responds to me to mail the customer service email.

One day later the status changed to Dispatched.

Now Dispatched to where is the next question in all that is good and rainbows I really hope it is to my post office.

What does "in transit" mean?
I have some items that have had that status (from the SAPO track and trace) since November

Received another notification. Went to pick up parcel. Date on parcel was from 15 December 2014. First notification was Monday 21 February 2015

It seems to be a standard placeholder. Every checkpoint has a "in transit" except for the addressed post office.

My current one also says "GERIn TransitTON (HUB)"

I suggest you get hold of customs. My parcel said that too for a very long time as they were waiting for the invoice. Would have been nice if they could say so on the tracking page but alas.

I received a parcel today that was shipped from the USA on the 6th of September 2014! How pathetic is that!?!? Actually thaught it was stolen....

Just rings and rings and rings...
