From the minimal mail I've been receiving I didn't realize the previous strike had ended.

PO at my work says they only receive mail about once a week. Apparently lots of staff have been fired after they were caught "stealing/modifying" packages or parcels. From what I was told even some "high ups" were caught doing the same and also dismissed.

Seems domestic is still OK. I sent two econoparcels last week and they were delivered promptly.

Unbelievable, I just got a notification in my post box of a parcel that was sent October 2014. Thats 4 months ago! I had left it for dead. Amazing.

I guess this is the last of the bunch, as I hear there is another strike planned at SAPO starting the 10th.

So there is hope for me and my Parcel from Canada then.....

The last of the 5 items I ordered in late Nov/early Dec was delivered last week. Definitely not in chronological order.

Almost one month for EMS delivery. Gives new meaning to "Express" mail.

I received another EMS item today from Kyoto. One week in limbo between Japan and SA with no updates. Arrived in JHB on Thursday. Waited for flight to Cape Town till Sunday. Customs processed at 7am this morning. Out for delivery and at door this afternoon.

But this was much better in the past - I talk of pre-2005 days. EMS from Japan would take 3 days from posting in local post office in Tokyo or Kyoto to delivery to my door. It was amazing. It was faster than FedEx from USA.

Hmm, so maybe my July parcel will still arrive. One can but hope.

I bought some stuff from Switzerland on 6jan15. The supplier had to resend on the 6feb using Swiss post (priority) On the second attempt they provided a waybill. You can see the item leaving Switzerland and going to Germany on 09 feb. It then leaves Germany but after that no further updates in the website.

My guess is that it's sitting at the post office. Is there anyway to check?
