SA Post Office Strike

I've got missing mail from back in May, no hopes of getting it.

I think emails/electronic means are the way forward for sure.

You in JHB? I'm in CPT. This postal strike is a new issue for us. We've never had it this bad.

Then you have no proof of address. Screwed no matter which way you look at it.

Oh geez. I hope the private courier brining in packages from abroad aren't adversely effected by the mail hub in JHB.

Not much they can do if a package must be inspected and then just disappears into the ether...

I was assured all parcels are safe and that all mail is moving (slowly)

Translated : "we shipped your items via superglue" cause that is what my tracking numbers shows....

Capetown, my municipality bill for august arrived 3 weeks late (usually get it first week). So the wheels are turning slowly. But it arrived 3 days after the payments due date. I used the website to download and print my bill about a week ago and paid just fine at PNP with it.

Track and Trace(SAPO) and Parceltrack also been down for the last day or two. My parcel is (i think) still stuck at the JHB International mail hub. I know this is somewhere close to ORT, but does anyone have an address or directions to get there?

Ive been waiting for 3 weeks for a parcel, and ill be more than happy to just go collect the damn thing myself.

The Post Office has finally killed itself with this mess. Nobody will use them again if they can help it and pay a small fee for next day courier. Sent two parcels this morning from pick n pay via Aramex couriers. Will arrive tomorrow and cost R100. F U SAPO

JIMC is Closed, no collections. The backlog is going to be huge.

Sigh. Bye bye parcel. Enjoy your stay in the pile wherever you may be. Hopefully you meet a sexy stamp in the dark and make the best of it.

Despite the Poe$Orifice claiming in media releases that the strike is related to 400 casual workers feeling hard done bye for not being permanently employed or receiving benefits, the real deal is that SAPO has been squandering the permanent SAPO employees pension scheme coffers in dodgy deals without consulting the membership. This is the real rant going on behind the scenes and crippling the organization. Don't believe anything SAPO releases to the media, its all lies. This strike is going to go on for very a long time and the organization will implode very soon. They already R200million in the red and are rudderless without competent senior management appointments being filled. Now is the time to invest in courier companies which don't use the SAPO backbone.
