Wow, ordered a USPS Prior Intl parcel from the US. It was delivered to my door in 2 weeks. AMAZING!
I think it must've been some kind of fluke or mix up. I have one more parcel coming from the states using the same courier method. I will let you guys know if its delivered on time.

You do know that it's sometimes NOT POSSIBLE to do this?
Japanese companies especially don't like doing that sort of thing.

It's either significantly more expensive and more trouble, or the company refuses and only does its own shipping. And they often also allow only one address, the only on the CC statement, and you can't even use a forwarder because they ban those, they don't ship to domestic addresses for example, if you are a foreigner.

Awesome pre-2014 service from SAPO.
That is true, so sad but true. I used to not mind waiting a month or 3 sometimes but at least I received everything.

That's crazy. Every country in the world has a post office, but when ours does not function we should not complain about it and use alternatives, because.....?.
Really bizarre logic.
Post Office is a parastatal. It's not a private courier service, like FedEx. It's like ESKOM, TelKom, SABC, etc. It fills a niche and has a privileged position. It has a service mandate too. It's supposed to deliver postal items. So even non-users have a right to complain. And it's getting tax bail outs so there's more reason to complain.
It's like not complaining about the cops because one has ADT.

Reminds me of an Apple computer thread.
Q: How do you do z in OS X (a Mac)?
Apple fan answer: You don't need to do z. Or you're better off not doing z because a Mac user does not need to do z, or get a Windows PC.
Instead of actually saying, do y to get z working, or it's impossible. People will throw suggestions at you and even prove to you that Mac is superior because it does not have that functionality, because only idiots need it.

It's an outlet for emotions for sure.
It's also indexed by Google. SAPO will get plenty of negative hits and they do worry to a degree about their brand.
Besides people can swap experiences and see whether they should worry about a late item or it's just the SOP way for SAPO to do this.
