SABC through DVB-T2 on HD TV?

mean all satellite decoder can't watch SABC channel now ? have to via DSTV decoder ?
 
i see, but which satellite decoder can watch SABC HD channel on 68.5E now, only ovhd, dstv ? or have other box ?

I pick up all the SABC and ETV channels on my Telly with a digital antenna I got off banggood.com
Works like a bomb
But I never watch tv as I do not have a valid tv licence

you are using T2 decoder, i am want see SABC HD via satlelite decoder. only want know which box is good

Openview is HD.

Anyway why do you need a satellite receiver?

Just plug in bunny-ears and get terrestrial digital HD.
 
My understanding is that HD is only available if you are using an HDMI connection; it is only SD via the AV cable.
Can anyone tell me if the PPL WX channel is interactive, as it is on DSTV - ie -can one look up weather for a specific place or does one have to watch the scroll of all the towns etc.?

Yeah, some of the SABC channels are HD at 720p like their sports channel but the normal SABC 1, 2 & 3 is not HD by far, looks to be standard def at 480p. Which is actually DVD quality believe it or not. Amazing how far we have come.

You can only get HD via analog component (RGB) or HDMI. AV is as standard as standard definition as it gets... it's horrible.
 
Anyone know where to buy network tuner HDHOMERUN Connect Duo as Amazon UK don't have this anymore?

Any good alternatives?
 
If you have OpenView with PVR, can you record all the channels or only etv ones?
 
Swapped the MiL's TV from CRT to a 48" LED in prep for analogue switch off.
She does not have dstv, happy to watch just the FTA stuff.

Issue is that ETV channels seem to bug out regularly saying no connection. SABC is fine.
I'm assuming that SABC and ETV use different transmitters / frequencies and there is something off with the antennae that receives ETV. She has the old style two split antennaes setup form yonks ago.

- Does ETV and SABC get sent from different towers?
- I'm assuming the two different antennaes are one for VHF, the other UHF? They point in slightly different directions (around 5 degrees off), would that be enough to mess with the ETV signal?
 
got two of Sentech/vivid/freevision decoder , but all channel not work more. how to active can watch SABC channel and Etv for FREE ?

For vivid you need a satellite dish, if I remember, pointing in the same direction as a DSTV dish.
