How do you put a tv on stand by? I only know on and off
 
Most off buttons on a remote will in fact be for standby. My TV has separate standby and off buttons. If all you have is a single off button on your remote, press it. If a light remains on the tv (usually a red light of some sorts) then it's in standby. In fact it's probably in standby in any case at that point...

Nope, does not work but thanks for the help. Anyone know where (besides openelec and their mirrors) I can download the previous stable release?
 
I would like to get this up and running on my HTPC, I just wonder do I need to subscribe to a newsserver or does any ISP like Afrihost have a decent free newsserver? since I cancelled my astraweb subscription... also the accounts for the nzb sites... I'll need invites :D

Two problems.

1. You need to make sure your scripts are setup properly, please refer to the OP:

2. You are trying to download something that is out of your servers retention. You are most likely using the free server with your ISP, they normally only have a retention of a few days. This means that anything uploaded to the newsserver that is older than that will fail. You need a premium provider to download older articles, the retention is normally one of the main things they advertise. You should look at a provider with at least 1000 days retention.

Is your scripts folder set in SAB? As per OP:

I've been having a problem with "Repair failed, not enough repair blocks" in SABnzbd. This is for some backlog episodes which are like a month old. I'm using the free IS news server. No way around this WITHOUT paying ?

I'm guessing search providers don't make a difference here and its the actual server that matters...

EDIT: Are there any free torrent providers ? I'm guessing that would be a bit better for older content.

Your search providers can have an impact on this if they search for different files, but if it's the same file then the paid option is your only choice.

As it is, I'm leaning less and less on my free server and getting it all actually from a paid block account. They're really cheap and just much better. No more fiddling around to get what you want...

Have a look at Tweaknews for a Trial here you'll get 10 gigs of the older (1100 days older things).

But if you looking to actually pay for a subscription, then i would recommend Next Gen News (Local) i think they have a trial as well, just have a look here.

Xsusenet has a free account and you can use their SSL details on the account even though they say you can't.
It's only 1 meg and they say retention is about 10 days but It's more like 1600.
Try adding it as backup, will likely improve your download success greatly.
You need to log in once a month to keep the account active, they send you an email.

You can also use multiple accounts but you need to keep in mind each account requires an email address

I tried to sign up for the free Xsusenet account and found that I already had an account from 2012. :wtf:

Thanks for that. I've added in the account.

Now, I tried to download an episode of something (it was snatched by SB this morning, before I added in the xusenet account). Started the download now, it used the news.is.co.za server and this is what I got :

[190834] Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (250 short)
[190834-Sample] Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (12 short)
Trying SFV verification
Some files failed to verify against "190834.sfv"

I figured my previous failures were because of the age of the content, but this episode (Silicon Valley S01E06) aired yesterday...

UPDATE: Manually went to the folder and opened up one of the RAR files. Double clicked on the video and it extracted... Watching now to check if its corrupted. Any ideas as to whats going on ?
