SABNZBD, Sickbeard & Couchpotato Guide.

Just check that the TV show you're downloading has been added to Sickbeard and it has it's own folder. And that Sickbeard knows where this folder is, if you change the location of a folder you have to tell Sickbeard this or processing will fail.

You just solved my problem for me. I originally had the folder on my internal drive and moved the folder to my external drive and forgot to update my directory for the shows. :D feeling so much less frustrated now thanks a million!

You don't need a static IP address if you use a service like NO-IP (free) or DYNDNS (used to be free).

If you are lucky your router will have built in support for NO-IP which will keep track of your current IP address. If not there is a utility you can install that updates your IP address if I'm not mistaken.

Then you just need to forward the ports that SAB and Sickbeard are using to your PC via your router.

Portforward.com has guides on how to configure most routers.

So if SAB is running on say port 8081 you can then access it at fury05.no-ip.org:8081 with any browser.
Add a password for security and maybe https for better security.

Some of the ASUS routers these days even give you free access to their DNS service and is very easy to use i.e.
you'll get a asuscomm.com address.

Please help me out here. I set up a static IP in windows which 192.168.0.xx. I registered on no-ip and added a host with xxxx.no-ip.org. It now tells me to check that my port forwarding is working via portchecktool.com. When testing it gives an error message connection tined out.

I have set up port forwarding on the router using the protocol http tcp/udp using IP address 192.168.0.xx and then external starting port 80 and external ending port 80.

I still cannot get this working. Is there something I'm missing?

:sly: finally got it working, was another setting in the router firewall setting which needed to be set up with the static IP and now all is up and running, remote access is awesome

I am following this guide to setup everything for my parents. I am having trouble with sabnzbd. In catergories under scripts I dont see sabToSickbeard.exe so not sure how to continue now

You need to tell SAB where the scripts are...

The scripts folder is empty

This part in the instructions:

Remember that scripts folder you created earlier? Well now we are going to use it. Go to your sickbeard folder and copy the contents of the autoProcessTV folder into the scripts folder. There should be a file called autoProcessTV.cfg.sample, rename it to autoProcessTV.cfg. Now open it with notepad and edit what is required. Host=localhost, Port=8081 and then your sickbeard username and password if you set it up, otherwise leave those blank. The port number is the port number for Sickbeard, if you changed it it won’t be 8081.

Selective reading from my side. Thanks very much for the help

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the setup Guide and all the help posts.

There are no videofiles in folder: C:\Users\USER\Z_NZB's\Completed\Series\2.Br oke.Girls.S03E21.HDTV.XviD-AFG-nzbsa

Hi guys,

I need some more torrent providers for Couchpotato. At the moment I'm using IP Torrents but I don't get everything I want.

Any suggestions (or invites - I can trade invite for IPT)?

Any of you guys using Newztown? Having issues with search provider settings in sickbeard. In the log it gives an error about the newztown url and then another error saying no data returned for api. Will post the log later today. Anyone have any ideas?

Working fine here:

Hey guys - got the SABNzbd setup and Sickbeard Setup done, with Usenet provider as nextgennews.net and search providers newztown and newztown, usenet-crawler and womble. It successfully picked up the latest episode of the Mentalist last night, but I've tried to download 6 times, and each time it says:
Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (x short)
2 articles were missing

3 questions:
- what could I look into in order to fix it?
- what is the correct procedure to restart a download in a case like this?
- I seem to get multiple versions downloading simultaneously, what could cause that?

like this?
2014-05-19 12:51:54 SEARCHQUEUE-RSS-SEARCH :: Error loading newztown URL: https://newztown.co.za/api?apikey=
2014-05-19 12:51:54 SEARCHQUEUE-RSS-SEARCH :: No data returned from https://newztown.co.za/api?apikey=

Since I use a few sites I never gave it much thought, usually stops and continues to work after a few hours.

Another q - if I plan to move the downloaded movie/tv series onto a usb drive, and then transfer to another computer - what is the correct procedure to remove the files, nzb's and references in sickbeard to a specific episode?

Sickbeard won't really care too much but for consistency sake you can just set the status of the episode that you're deleting to skipped, or if you delete the whole show then just delete it in Sickbeard.
