Contract Pricing (Nashua)!
VODCOM

Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R529 X24Mths on Smart S
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R589 X24Mths on Smart M
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R729 X24Mths on Smart L
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R899 X24Mths on Smart XL
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R1139 X24Mths on Smart Red Advantage
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R1649 X24Mths on Smart Red Premium
Samsung N9000 Galaxy Note 3 Handset @R1999 X24Mths on Smart Red VIP

These new "smart packages" from Vodacom are an absolute joke! They can expect my 6 year old contract to be cancelled soon. I hope Telkom mobile contracts offer more value for R489+ pm. Otherwise its Cell C for me.

Hey Peeps, stop moaning about the price, cos maybe.............................JUST maybe....................

possibly....................

These prices are for the bundle - Galaxy Note 3 AND Galaxy Gear.

Wishful thinking :whistling:

If it was for a bundle that includes both, then I would HAPPILY pay R529! But I strongly doubt it. Time will tell though.

Also it is pointless arguing about the price for now. I have not seen any official contract pricing on any of the providers websites.

Telkom mobile is looking promising though I must admit. Let's be honest, these days it is all about DATA DATA DATA, not just cheap data but fast and reliable as well.

I have been able to upgrade since April but have been waiting for something I like, this is it but I doubt the price will drop. iPhone5 and the S4 still costs the same. Both of them have been out for MONTHS. Seems like 399 is roughly the minimum for a top end phone these days. With the newer ones being 529 and upwards (vodacom)

I tend to agree. The prices will probably remain the same until the next Note is released. Then towards that time, the prices may drop slightly

I popped into the Telkom Mobile shop at Tyger Valley today and saw the Note 3 on display.

They don't have pricing for it yet, will only be available next week, or beginning of October.

What makes the TM contracts insane, is that you get 5GB TM data every month with your contract, for the full 24 months.

However, the Note 3 just feels huge in my hand, the S4 actually felt much smaller and more comfy.

Guess you can get used to it?

Also, on Vodacom you need at least a Smart M contract, the data with the Smart S is just not enough.

If you add on a data bundle, you're looking at R600+, which is almost a DSTV premium subscription!

Hmmm. next week or beginning of October......I wonder which comes first, given that next Tuesday is the 1st of October :whistling:

Telkom contract pricing is good, but reception not as good as vodacom................

I'm definitely not get it at these prices, what are these people smoking?

Fully agree with you. The phone is not worth more than R8500, and on the cheapest contract you're looking at R529 X 24 = R12696.

According to this (Which I expect the Note 3 will be available on, +R100->R150) it also includes unlimited calls to other Telkom Mobile subscribers... Id happily pay up to R500 for that and the 5gig pm. The size is a bit if an issue but im sure one could get use to it. Besides the trusy old S2 will still be around should I need a smaller phone for the day :D

Yeah, but of you exclude the base cost of the contract (airtime, sms and data), you end up with just under R7k for most of the contracts

LOL....ok, let's just say beginning of October. :D

If you are still allowed to roam on MTN with these TM contracts, you're covered for most of the country.

The 5GB data is only for use on the TM network, but they also give you an additional 150MB data to use when you're outside their coverage area, which means WhatsApp will still work. ;)

True that.

But, you only get 150MB data with the Smart S contract, so if you buy an additional 1GB data a month, it becomes very expensive.

Ok right, recommended retail price of R8999. Anyone know where I will be able to get it at that price? Maybe even tomorrow? I'm itching bad now :D

I'm guessing Samsung shops. Apparently Nashua Mobile as well. Vodashops I don't know about. Ockie's pricing thread is dead quiet and someone mentioned a Vodashop only getting stock in 2 weeks. 2 ****ing weeks.

I tried calling at least 2 branches of MTN to see when they would get stock. None of them have any info or are even aware when stock would arrive. Quite surprising since several places have already mentioned a release date and even pricing. Mtn SA doesn't even have a pre order page on their site as yet .........yet Mtn Nigeria has one already.
