In times like natural disaster, you might not be able to use fancy apps like that, which require the network. FM Radio is a basic no-frills means of communication, and you're telling me that I don't need it? B!tch, please.

Also, my S2 currently has Stereo FM. If somebody tells me to tune in to some station, I don't want to not be able to, just because I upgraded my priceless S2 to some bulky piece of !@#$ that doesn't even have a Radio!

Apparently you feel very strong about the radio. I also have the S2 and can honestly say that I cannot remember when last I used the FM radio, I rather use the app. Luckily we have not had any natural disasters here where I live.:p

You will want the radio feature after watching the World War Z movie, or Oblivion. :p

Sheesh, upset grampas in this thread. So worried about your FM radios, 8 track tapes, gramophones and 5¼ inch floppy disks. I suppose you want those dang kids to get off your lawns too?

What natural disaster/nuclear apocalypse could happen that would destroy cellphone networks but miraculously leave the radio stations intact? And if those do happen, and you don't have anything better to do even though civilisation is collapsing around you, you can just sit in your car and listen to the last few radio shows brave enough to broadcast through the end of the world.

B!tch please, if you are gonna rely on a smartphone radio to serve you during the end of the world, then you are gonna have a hard time...

:p

:D You guys crack me up. Anyone can have a portable FM transmitter (so no need to rely on radio shows), but few can have a portable cell network (unless I am mistaken (I wish))

The natural disaster argument in favour of a FM radio in the Galaxy Note 3 is just hilarious, especially for South Africans.

In SA, it makes more sense to argue in favour of a FM radio because data prices tends to be high.

now everyone knows that in case sofa zombie apocalypse the only thing broadcast on the radio is the 'emergency broadcast message' so a radio in your note 3 will be useless anyway.
now if Samsung can figure out how to get a ham radio on the note 3 that will be useful when dem zombies attack

An old Nokia 5110 would be better in case of a zombie apocalypse. You can smash the zombies' skulls with it, or make a fire and throw the ****ING HUEG battery in, causing a massive explosion.

I see some arb things like "If the phone dont have *insert arb thing* its a deal breaker"

Kmon fellas you know you still gonna get it, or are you really going to join those crazies over at the iPhone 5S thread? :D

Those guys have valid concerns. The AWESUM INNOVASHUNZ of the naaiPhone 5 included an extra row of icons, the new one doesn't even have that.

Innovation at Apple died with Steve Jobs.

The fingerprint reader was already on a Motorola phone before, but now Apple will most probably market it as this new and amazing feature.

They did it with the iPad as well. Having said that, they were the 1st to really capitalise on it.

Oh really? I didn't get the S4 because of its flaws...
