Samsung Galaxy S10

Updated my S10e to Android 10 when it became available and all was running fine.

Now suddenly my Gmail notifications are not coming through until I unlock the phone.

Tried all the tips on Google but none seem to work.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Do you have any kind of battery saving mode on on. Check the phone is not set to optimize power saving for this app
 
I'm really struggling with this phone. Battery drain is just too much. 6am to 1pm from 100% to about 10% with maybe 30min screentime and 5min calls.

Phone is always hot. Takes long to charge abd gets hot while charging....

Sounds like some sort of cryptomining malware raping resources. Phone isn't going to run hot or drain battery otherwise (looking at screen time claims, etc).

@cavedog: Have any random apps been installed lately? Or worse, apps direct from .apk instead of the Play Store?

Get totally draconian.
Download firmware from Sammobile.com.
Then backup all your apps & data to Samsung.
Only then do a total factory reset.
Once you're done, see how things are. If you still have problems use Odin and apply your downloaded firmware.
If you still have problems after that then you need a professional repair.

Maybe try a factory reset and see how it behaves and reload your apps one by one?
I really hate taking the phone in, those so called 'techies' damage the phone even more. Your phone will never be the same.
 
Currently using a body glove cover just contemplating if I should put a skin on my device.
 
So what is this weird setting that only allows emails to come through when you wake up your phone? It;'s really bugging me, and I can't find any setting that says "put WiFi to sleep when not using your phone..."
