Samsung Galaxy S10

Has anyone had a software update on the S10+ since November 2020? I'm still on the above version/update with Android 10, One UI version 2.5.
I'm on Telkom's mobile network.

S10e here and same thing here. Can't believe this is taking so long. If anyone gets the update, please post here.

Checked every day for the last month, and it finally popped up on a Vodacom S10.20210224_164504.jpg

Hi everyone, I have an S10+ and have received the notification for the Android 11/One UI 3 update. The specific update version is G975FXXU9EUA4 with a size of 1850,21 MB and the 1 January 2021 security patch level.

I was quite excited about the update but I have read so many disappointing comments with regards to the Android 11 update on the S10 series (mostly overseas comments). Too many bugs and many people seem to regret doing the update.

Has anyone done this particular update here in South Africa? What is your experience with it?

I love my device and would hate to become frustrated with it because of an update that is supposed to improve things but does the opposite instead.

Thanks in advance everyone

Can't say I've had any issues with it in the few weeks I've been running it.

That sounds great! Happy to hear that.

My hesitation is brought about by the horror stories of people suggesting wiping and factory resetting S10's because the update is more bad news than good.

I'm hoping that the update rolled out here in SA is one that has been fixed. Your comment leads me to believe that this may be the case.

Hahaha okay, thank you. Would the update that you received be the same as the update we receive here in SA?

Any South Africans have experience with the update?

Just got a an S10e, what a phone, perfect form factor!
I didn't realize the S10e had a flat screen, I've been avoiding flagship Samsung phones since the curved screens arrived, I'd crack them in a few weeks and a curved screen replacement is stupid expensive.

Great performance both hardware and camera wise seeing its basically an S10 under the hood barring 8GB vs 6GB ram. The S10e beats all the current mid range A52, A72 type phones, which is what I was using due to the flat screens.

Any handy tips or things to watch out for with the S10e from long term users?

Been looking for a phone for a while now to replace my Nokia. They have seriously let their customers down by not releasing new high spec phones in the last two years and not releasing Android 11 as they said they would .

Been deliberating on whether I should be buying an A72 5G, Nokia 8.35G or Oppo , or even a Xiaomi - max price R9k.

Want AndroidOne if possible and best possible cameras, and highest spec processor possible. Regular security and OS updates is a MUST.

Reason I am being tight, is that I prefer not to spend too much on phones as they inevitably get broken my children - and I never claim from insurance. So far this Nokia has been the bullet proof over the last three years, but it's starting to slow down.

With your S10e , which I just looked up , appears to be a 2019 model which costs about R13k ? Did you really pay that much for an old gen phone? Maybe it's worth it over an A72 and hence I am asking. For that price, I may have bought an oppo Reno or that Xiaomi 10T?

Don't know why I am immobilised by inaction in choosing a phone to replace my Nokia (which I am typing this message on).

Thx

Had my S10e since launch. It is the longest I have ever had a phone which must say something. I still don't really see a suitable replacement.
For me it's simple, small form factor that doesn't feel uncomfy in my pocket (I even keep it in my pocket when running and cycling) and a great camera to have on hand when I don't have the dslr on me. Other than that it still feels nice and performs well. It also gets regular updates so no complaints there. The battery is still fine, not amazing, but it has never let me down. Mostly charge it overnight and that's enough and I do have a battery bank for longer days but I only really use it once every 3 months.

Anyone else on S10 having battery drain?

Very bad.

I thought it was the network or some apps but it got so bad that when I take it off charge the morning by 2pm I need to look for the charger again.

Finally just moved my stuff over to my Huawei P40 Lite 5G that I have for 3 months already.

I will have to wipe the S10 and see what I can do to fix that drain because it's bad.

Keep us posted, I removed a bunch of apps I don't use.
Besides the battery not lasting as long, it still works 100%
