What is it, that you are not so overwhelmed about? Changing to a new operationg system? Or the features of the phone?

The features of the phone, specifically Samsung. The Sony Ericsson has much more features, but then the additional features are unique to Sony Ericsson - nothing to do with the operating system. Naive me kind of expected similar features on the Galaxy only to find out later that those features were unique to Sony Ericsson. Where the Samsung trumps Sony Ericsson though, is in the screen - Super AMOLED vs LCD.

I've never owned a Sony anything - I'm a massive Samsung fan, so I wouldn't know what features you mean. What particularly was better. I know Sony have an excellent Camera and software system - but that's about it. Not even sure what UI they use to be honest.

Any specifics as to extra features? May visit a Vodashop to have a look :)

I have a question. Is it possible to format your SD card to EXT2 or EXT4 ? Reason I am asking is , I want to copy files bigger than 4GB and currently SD cards have a limit of 4GB files because it uses the FAT system. I am just afraid that EXT 2 or EXT 4 is not compatible ???

Anyone have any ideas ?

Not 100% sure on the s2 but on the desire you can partition your card and make a fat32 partition then an ext partition. When plugging into the pc though it only "shares" the fat partition. You could use a file manager on your phone to copy and save on the ext but that might take a while.

What specifically grabbed me was the excellent camera - but you already said that - and the Sony Bravia Engine that they use for video playback. Then, they also use the iPhone's pinch method to resize images - not available on the Galaxy. I think that Google might have removed this from Android due to possible patent infringement; the Galaxy has this thing where you have to tap and hold the screen in two places and then tilt it backward or forward to resize the image - not very intuitive and a bit retarded frankly.

I believe the Bravia engine is awesome, though it doesn't run 100% of the time, only when viewing Media - I stand to be corrected though. The pinch to Zoom works fine on the Galaxy; in the gallery (and in the camera app.) haven't had any problems Pinchin' 'n Zoomin' -It may also be because I'm using a custom Rom and never really had the opportunity to test the stock firmware - so you may be correct

Unfortunately not dude. I only discovered this way of doing it yesterday and it worked right off the bat. Came into the office this AM, fired up my notebook and SGS2 connected to the notebook with no problems. I am afraid Google is going to be your friend in this case ):

Yeah this seems to be the typical Ad Hoc WIFI mode that is been done via netsh, I think this is dependant on one having a WIFI chipset/drivers that support it. Mine does.. sort of.. I think ;P I'll have to fiddle more at home tonight, if I don't pass out.

Stock. Mine works.

Edit: CRUD! Meant to quote the question - this is about the pinch to zoom feature.

Wait!! This looks and sounds the same as the current model; just runs on different frequencies.

*Shrugs* I might be wrong.

I have had my eye on this since it was announced a week or 2 back. Main difference is 4.5" screen and 1.5Ghz dual proc. I am mainly after the slightly bigger screen. That little 0.2" makes quite a difference on mobile devices.
Also slightly bigger batter.

Not quite, for starters it is a 4.5" screen.
Still not sure if the SOC is updated, or just over-clocked to 1.5Ghz.

Resolution is still 480 X 800 though... so they're strectching something somewhere to fit it into the larger screen. Quite happy with SG2 screen. Any bigger and it may be a little more awkward to hold.
