that peace of mind is worth gold. and just being able to pop round to the nearest vodashop for a pain-free fix is worth even more :)

I'm sorry... Did you just say vodashop and pain-free in the same sentance? :D

Are you perhaps the manager there? :)

nope. it's just my experience. when i have a query, they have the answer. when i have a hardware mishap, they repair it. when i need a new phone, they provide good salespeople (who know what they're talking about). all with smile, too :)

Something's wrong here. Whatever you smoking, STOP immediately it's definitely a dangerous substance maybe even a banned

I Just Called MTN Retentions Dept and was told that MTN would is not going to stock this phone. I am shattered and if that is the case I will need to buy it cash. Can anyone confirm or refute this. I am so heartbroken.

Anybody with working mms settings for the s2, please tell me what they are? I'm with VC

Looks like you tried using the insecure kernel that was the first rooting technique (XWKDD). Chances are your phone is running XWKE7 as the firmware, so leaving the old kernel should work, but its not 'on par' with the rest of your system.

Personally, I ran a more recent rooting kernel, as it comes with some built in backup utils. I would recommend using this one, as you don't need to bother with superoneclick or anything anymore... Same guy who released the original insecure kernel.

Fairly easy to follow instructions.

If you don't like the yellow triangle on boot, there's instructions on the second post. Just make sure you follow very, very closely and you'll need the XWKE7 stock kernel from here, password for the zip is intratech@XDA (as seen in this thread)

Hope this helps! You should be able to follow the instructions from where your phone is at the moment.

Thanx, think that was the problem. Rooted and works like a dream

Vodacom sent them to me in an SMS or whatnot and it configured my phone for me... I have looked to find them again but can't seem to find it :| Not a lot of time to look right now though. Where are you trying to plug them in?

mobile networks then access point names. VC did send the settings but it's not working. Now i'm trying to change it manually. The VC shop at Kolonade is as useless as the rest of them.
If you do not mind I am going pm my settings and you can check if it's the same as yours.

Quick question for those who ordered off Handtec, did you choose "Rest of world DHL" or "Rest of world UPS/Fedex" and how much import duties did you pay? Maybe the choice of courier is the reason some people are paying +-R1300 and some people +-R800?

I also chose DHL and was charged R1300.
Depends on the mood of the idiot with the calculator at customs.

Ok thanks, damn, i was hoping my theory was right. It's so shocking there can be a difference of R450 for the exact same order.
