Your battery life doesn't sound too bad considering. 1d 10h with 30% its reasonable, bit it all depends on your usage for that period.
When I was on KE7, I also had a night where it seemed that my phone was awake, but I thought it was just the AOS bug. The bug is supposedly fixed in KG1 & KG2 though.
The forums & MyBB app aren't allowing me to post pics, but last night my battery usage graph line was flat, with Wi-Fi and data off.
I am currently on VillainROM 2.1 (KG2), and kernel and modern are both KG2.
Did you calibrate your battery when you flashed KG1? Either by wiping battery stats from CWM or using BatteryCalibrate from the market?

Or press Home + Volume Down and Power to enter download mode. Don't forget to press Volume Up to continue into download mode.

@CodeMaster and Flikka: I'm on 1 day and 10 hours now and at 30% battery. My display has been on for 2.5 hours. My phone seems to have been "awake" the whole night. I'm going to freeze the samsung apps today and see if it makes a big difference. One thing that I do at night is turn off my data connection to save power and to prevent FB and the other apps from pulling information and notifying me during the night.

I think this is the first time it has happened. I'm going to flash KG2 the weekend. How is the battery life on the VillainRom? No, I didn't calibrate it. I actually forgot about it. Did you calibrate yours?

I am busy calibrating battery now (USB full charge), as I only had a chance yesterday to flash VillianROM. Too early to comment on battery life now, but initially it looks good.
It is important to calibrate battery when changing roms, as the stats from the old rom screw the stats of the new rom.

The battery draining bug wasn't with "Android System", but with "Android OS" (AOS).
Since KG2, "android system" is using 2% of my battery!

I have all my fb, twitter etc all on manuall update but refresh a lot. My wifi is almost always on but off at class for few hours. Going to give feedback on my battery when this cycle is done after that i will uninstall bloarware so we can see what diff it makes. Overall i really like KG2.

has anyone experienced that when i enable power saving mode.it stays on always irrespective whether the battery is at a higher % than what you set to enable power saving mode?

i don't care about saving battery i use my phone for work at 100% usage so normally i just carry an extra battery . solves the problem

35% needs to be taken in context with everything. 35% is fine with a low CPU time if the phone has mostly been idle and in your case, still a fresh charge.
It would be more worrying if it was 35% with high usage at the end of battery life.
7m 57s

2.3.4 KG2

But must say, battery usage is good! 4 hours now and at 92%. Usually it would be around 50% now

For the guys that want to test extending your battery life, below is two settings that most (all?) custom roms recommend to set to improve battery life
Code:
Battery Saving Tips:
Disable Fast Dormancy:
1: Dial *#9900#
2: Press Disable Fast Dormancy
3: Press Exit

Disable Samsung App Notifications:
Settings > Applications > Samsung Apps
Tick Off

More info on the "Fast Dormancy" setting can be found here and here.
In the xda-dev link, you will see that some people on T-Mobile are saying that it affects their packet-data speeds, so it would be interesting if anyone is willing to do some tests with our networks to see if disabling it affects speeds. I have it disabled, but I am affected by crappy edge speeds at work, so I just rely mostly on Wi-Fi for data.

Very interesting, thanks, however, it does look like there are many mixed results. I'll leave it on for now :)

I completely forgot to post this when I did it when I was still running KG1, the settings persists when you upgrade your firmware so you dont have to redo it every time you update, I haven't experienced any problems, slow speeds etc. Just like CodeMaster I mostly use WiFi for data but at class today all seems normal just a lil slower than WiFi which is normal.

I have a installed a modified Skype app that supports the SGS2 for video and it works beautifully, tested it last night. I cant seem to find the link to it but I have the .apk so you can just pm me your email and I can send it out like that or any better ideas I don't know.

It might stay with a ROM flash, but I think it is part of the modem, so if you flash a new modem, then you need to change it again. Will confirm when I flash again.

Is available, if you can find stock - not too hard. Most have it, Vodacon, MTN, CellC, Virgin. (8ta?)
Forgive my ignorance: but is this phone availble in South Africa? Through which provider?
