What stable 4.2.2 JB ROM are you guys using? I am currently on Omega V23 and need a change. I have to many freezes with Omega. About 3-4 reboots per day.

I want something that works, is stable and good battery life. I was on Slim Bean before Omega. Or should I just go back to the Spain Rom. Problem with that was that the battery life was really bad.

I have found PAC ROM to be quite stable, had no issues with it except the odd SOD when using another kernel On stock, it is perfect.

Also, the CM10.1 nightlies are pretty good, if you want a simpler experience.

In my experience the issue is usually not with the ROM but rather the way it was installed.

You have to make sure nothing from any previous ROM remains on the file-systems. Easiest is to use a cleaning script like GS2ROMNuke and format your SDcards for good measure.

Dont be lazy and try to short cut the process, so no app restores, you cant guarantee what leftovers from the old ROM will be re-introduced to confuse the new ROM. Rather take screenshots of all your homescreens, re-download all apps and setup from scratch first time around.

For me 4.2.2 CM10.1 is no less stable than Samsung's stock. Dont get any FCs, freezups or anything else peculiar.

I moved from Omega to JellyBam. Best thing I ever did.

Firstly don't panic ... it takes a lot to truly brick an S2.

What ROM was on the phone when you flashed CMR? Did it boot fine before?

It was the first time I flashed it. Never tried to flash it before

Re-flash the firmware i.e. stock samsung 4.1.2

EDIT: Why did you flash clockworkmod?

Where will I be able to get that.... In Odin it just flashed the Kernel and said Pass.

That's all I did and I did it off a guide so not sure what to do next

You must first flash the 4.1.2 JB firmware (assuming you want JB). To root, but into recovery and flash PhillZ kernel. Then you are rooted.

To flash the firmware, use Odin.

As per the link I posted above ... direct link;

The above latest Samsung complete ROM is probably near 600MB in size, so a quicker solution may be to use a kernel specifically designed for Samsung ROMs. In my experience Philz is the best ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31310884&postcount=3

Choose the top XWLSN one with .md5 extension and flash with Odin. See if it the phone will boot, if not re-boot into recovery and do the wipe cache & delvik. If still an issue you'll need to download the new full ROM to flash.

Thanks so far, just a stupid question?

When I have the XWLSN with the .md5, do I add it in PDA and then flash or where must I put it in?
