No, unzip it, inside will be a .md5 which you can flash with Odin.

Thanks, I've done it...

I was panicking too much, it shows "Android is Upgrading" do I need to anything more after this is finished?

If everything goes right not really, personally I would still factory default the new ROM to avoid future issues.

BTW if you want your phone rooted, then re-flash Philz afterwards (the Samsung ROM will overwrite the kernel).

^^This

And don't flash clockworkmod. I could never understand why anyone wanted to do this. I might be missing something, so someone please explain to me why anyone would want to flash it if it is already included in the kernel.

@Roman4604 - - Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it!!!!

Cool, one warning tho, not sure what will happen with Philz XWLSN kernel running with a XWLSS ROM? (i.e. kernel is older than ROM) [-]Doesnt look like Philz has a LSS based kernel yet[/-].

If it breaks, then just reflash the main ROM (it will overwrite the kernel again).

If its an issue and you still want it rooted, you may have to do it another way.

EDIT: Oops, didn't look properly, Philz LSS is there. Download it rather and flash to root.

Played with a Samsung Galaxy S4 yesterday....and while it's nice and light, the phone itself looks SO cheap and nasty with that silver band round it and the checkered pattern on the plastic!!

The Galaxy S3 actually looks much better than the S4.

What you smoking dude :D
No ways a S3 looks better, subjective or not...

Na dude... I played with an S4 yesterday, it looks and feels miles better than the S3... Not of the S2 calibre though...

I still prefer the design and functionality of my S2, which is why I am gonna keep it as a spare. I might just try find an original Galaxy, then I would have a complete set of Galaxy phones.
The S2 does show how dated it is against the S4 though.

How? If it's about the normal apps, how fast do you want Gmail and SPlanner to open?

On my S2 it's instant as well, so maybe it's people's way to justify having spent a lot of money on it?

The S2 still looks much much better and sexier than the S3 & S4 can ever look.

I agree with you to an extent, but there is a considerable "snappiness" that the S4 has over the S2. It is pronounced.

Factoring in the incredible screen, and it is a huge difference.

No arguments there. Though the S4 does run it a lot closer than the S3 ever did.

A collector hey :p

After playing with the S4 yesterday, and reading that the Exynos version has an updated Wolfson DAC- I am sold. Sorry HTC One, and Note 2 :D

To me, the 2 biggest upgrades is the screen and camera. I have 3 yr old twin boys, and I hated that I often missed special moments that could have been captured. I don't always carry a camera around, so for me decent photos from a phone are top priority. My wife's S3 is already miles ahead of my S2 in shutter speed, almost no lag. This is the biggest problem with the S2. The S4 is as quick, or faster than the S3, with visible difference in the clarity and detail - especially with crops.

The S4 screen is simply amazing, I love the "popping" colour of AMOLED screens, so I am not phased by the colour reproduction, bearing in mind it can be changed. The sensitivity is also pin-sharp, and Air Gestures aside, I sometimes get the feeling that the screen responds to presses even before they happen :D

The S4 might not be a huge upgrade from the S3, but it most certainly is coming from a S2!

Good to know. Haven't tried the camera out yet, will do so when I pop into Sandton City later...

It is amazing. Oversaturation included. I have not seen a better screen on any other device. And I was really impressed by the air gestures.

I dunno. From my (albeit limited) time with it, it felt like a massive upgrade in all respects compared to the S3. It's the first time I had a wow moment with a phone since the iPhone 5 (even the Xperia Z left me feeling a bit "meh").
