I see there are five font styles to choose from under Display settings... but is that a Jellybean standard?

No word on SA JB release yet?

Nope, all quiet on the Samfirmware front.

I'm using the UK official firmware now and so far not any problems.

Must still test Google Navigation and see how it performs.

Well, it is a newer kernel and modem, so let's see.

Greetings all!

So like many, I am tired of waiting for the service providers in this country to wake up and update Jellybean for the Galaxy S2.
So my question, which rom is so far the best to download from sammobile? I know there is a lot of custom roms, but I prefer to stick to the official ones.

All the JB roms are pretty much the same. Ask kingrob, he is the resident stock JB guru :D I would recommend the UK version though just because the default language is English.

Hi Braclo,

I've been using the official Spanish ROM since day 1, and before that, the first Jellybean test ROM, which was a UK one.

Yesterday I downloaded the official UK Jellybean ROM & have been using it since then.

All of the ROMs are rock-solid & all of them support South African English, but the UK one has the latest kernel & modem.

Is th UK one any better? I got the Norwegian one (I9100XWLSS_I9100OXXLS9_NEE) and its been on the phone for about 3 weeks now. I love JB on my S2 but the battery life has gone down the tube. Used to get 20 hours, now I am lucky if I get 14.

Getting a 2000+ mAH one from Hong Kong so hopefully that will fix it.

Awesome, thanks! Will get the UK one and see how it goes :D

Okay so got the UK Jellybean and loving it so far. Will see how it goes over the next few days.
I have a question again though: How can I root it now, or is it rooted or what? Bit confused on this matter.

It's not rooted if you are running the official Samsung JellyBean ROM.

Why do you need to root it?

Avast Anti-Theft system requires root for some of it's features.
Not a big deal, was just wondering :D

I am currently on Omega V23. The battery life is becoming worse and its starting to get laggy, so I am considering moving to the UK stock ROM. I would like to root it to get access to titanium back up. Which kernel do I use?
