Just did a simple reinstall using heimdall.

Code: 
sudo ./heimdall flash --kernel zImage --no-reboot

Looks okay now, just picked up where it left off and installed the update. Will see what happens when I reboot though.
 
Same here, installed the zImage with heimdall, re-flashed the ROM and gapps just to be sure and it is working now.
 
Anyone else have issues with the 4.1.2 update from Vodacom? My phone freezes when I click on notifications and sometimes when I type messages or when I click on a app. Then I have to remove the battery to restart and the battery life is worse than 4.0.4. Really, really frustrating, Id rather go back to 4.0.4 if this is the case

Rather try the Spanish or Nordic countries before going back.

Do a factory reset before you get another ROM.

Personally I do not do updates, but rather download the ROM and do a factory reset + cache wipe.

I am having one problem with the Vodacom ROM and that's my Google Navigation. The GPS gets a lock, but I still have a message on the screen saying "waiting for location". And if I touch the screen, it closes and I'm back at the Home screen.

Not sure if the Maps app needs a reinstall, or if it's back to my trusty old Spanish ROM.

Thanks for the advise, im going to do a factory reset now. I havent experienced and issues with my GPS it works flawlessly on the Vodacom 4.1.2 update for me. As you mentioned maybe a reinstall of the Map app would work.

Problem fixed.

Just uninstalled all the Google Maps updates, disabled the app, updated it, then opened it again. Problem solved! :)

The GPS lock is extremely fast and Navigation rocks! Love it.
 
Too late. I loaded nightly26 and my phone is screwed.
I tried the suggestions earlier of wiping and manually loading through the bootloader (first using ODIN)
But now when my phone starts, the keyboard doesn't work (loaded 20130821) and I can't enter passwords/account details

Any suggestions?

You did a factory reset? Well, only advice I can give you is to just redo the procedures.
- Flash the zImage
- Boot into recovery (Volume up, home + power button)
- Re-flash either 26 or earlier
- Re-flash gapps
- If you have done a factory reset, do it again, otherwise just wipe cache partition
- Reboot and try again?
 
I just did the Vodacom factory upgrade and now the handset has lost mobile data.

Check if your mobile data is on, pull down your notification bar and see if the mobile data tab is highlighted in green.

I done a factory reset last night and everything seems 100% now. Thanks Kingrob:D
 
Just downgraded to Android 4.1.2...

I was getting terrible battery life on CM 10.2 and those graphics glitches were annoying the shyte out of me. Every single time an add would pop the rest of the screen would black out. I guess I could have sorted out the battery issues but I'm lazy.

Anyways, I am now running Neatrom Lite with the Apollo kernel, as per OGroteKoning's recommendations. :)

Battery life is bloody amazing!! :D

Glad I could help. There is plenty reading material on XDA regarding governors and schedulers. You can find the best combination suited to you. But I stick with pegasusq and sio. Works best for me.

EDIT: And if ever you want to select stock governor and scheduler, Apollo (and Samsung) uses ondemand and cfq

I'm considering flashing the stock 4.1.2 ROM from Samsung... After a day of heavy use, I found that my battery drained much faster on CM 10.2 than on the stock ROM. And yes, I agree that GPU issue is annoying. Another thing: when i make calls on CM 10.2, my connection just drops. The signal bar shows the signal level, but it does not display the GPRS, EDGE, 3G/ H+ indicators...

Dammit, this problem has reared its ugly head again. :(

I guess it's time to go back to my super trusty and best official Samsung Galaxy S2 ROM ever - the Spanish ROM. :love:
