I've tried Resurrection Remix two days ago. While I admit, its a great ROM. Certainly one of the best out there. I used it for a good while before. But that latest version would not get a damn gps lock! In fact I couldn't get a gps lock on any 4.2.2 roms
. Everyone claimed the hacks and fixes were working for them but it never did for me. I even tried flashing the apparently fixed gps.exynos4. Didn't work. Also the battery life was a a little below average (but maybe I could have let the rom settle in for a week or so).
Are you having GPS issues as well? If you managed to sort them out can you let us know how you managed it. I would love to get back to the Resurrection Remix rom!

Trying to flash the stock Samsung 4.1.2 ROM (downloaded from http://sammobile.com ), but the flashing fails on the "hidden.img" section of the flash (last part). I had to flash CWM via Odin to recover to CM 10.2. Anyone have experience with this issue?
Update: I flashed 4.1.2 earlier this morning successfully, and it worked but had a boot loop. Then, I flashed again, now it fails each time.

Updated my stock S2 to 4.1.2 (Cell C) - my wife updated her's too. The phone is now so damn slow 
. How much free memory should there be after tapping "clear memory" under the Active Applications widget (i.e. Samsung Task Manager). Before the update, if I cleared, the usage would be about 350MB out of 826MB. Now's it 560MB/826MB. Generally, the phone is slow and unresponsive, virtually always using 90% memory with nothing running (except basic background apps like Facebook and Whatsapp). Deleted all unnecessary apps, but still so slow. Before update general memory usage was at around 70%.
I'm such an idiot for updating. I was dying to get my hands on Google Now. I regret updating. Will have to factory reset and see if it improves.

Ye, it shouldn't be slow. A factory reset should sort that out. Also contrary to popular belief, higher memory usage on your smartphone will generally make things quicker not slower as apps will be ready to load quicker. Obviously there is a point where not having free memory is an issue but I've found the S2 handles memory pretty well. Clearing your memory may actually cause apps to take longer to load.

Funny thing is, i've been having gps issues with all the other ROMS (ROOTBOX, SLIM etc) but RR had zero gps issues, and i didn't have to fix a thing...
I think ill give this a try.

Really disappointed! Used stock firmware update for approx 2 weeks and now my screen decided to fail on me completely. Flickering many times and BOOM screen just failed on me. Now my phone doesn't work anymore. I am sure it has something to do with the firmware that messed up my phone from the word go.

I highly doubt that the firmware broke your screen. Have you checked if there are more people who's screens broke after updating the firmware?

You shouldn't be clearing your RAM in Android- that will cause the apps to have to restart, instead of being cached.
By slow, do you mean slow response when scrolling through screens? The Facebook app is pretty rubbish, and could be one of the biggest reasons as to why you are experiencing slowness...
wasnt there some issue with drivers that samsung are not supplyin? which is causing some graphical glitches? and some games not to work well?
I never had graphical issues with CM10.1. CM10.2 did have, especially in the Google apps and when rotating the screen. That's why I switched back. In this version, I don't see any graphical issues. I don't know about games, don't play games on my phone
btw, for those who are interested, the RC CM10.1 version looks real stable, no issues yet. Can't comment on battery life yet since I had to install a lot of apps en sync again etc.

I updated my phone to stock 4.1.2, since then them my phone log stopped working. No phone calls, missed calls or other are remembered. If I click on a missed call in notification it will disappear. (View By is set to All logs.) Anybody know of a fix?

I know that. I don't do it unnecessarily, but after the firmware upgrade the free memory is much lower. Using 90% of memory just for background apps. It's like running a 512MB RAM phone. So if I open Opera Mobile with 2 or 3 tabs, the phone hangs. I've disabled all the Samsung bloatware, which has improved things a bit - down to about 83% fee memory
In terms of slow speed, I mean the time to open apps, even the most basic apps like contacts and messaging. Even scrolling through the screens is slow. And when the phone is almost out of memory, even trying to answer the call is a mission. This is on both my phone and my wife's phone (Cell C, Android 4.1.2, I9100XXMS2)
FYI, the Facebook app is not so bad anymore, they've improved a lot a few months back (although my rating on the play store is still 1 star

Technically you don't have 1GB RAM, but 826MB RAM.
And as apps get more rich with extra functions & graphics, so does the demand on your phone.
The days of single core phones are long gone, as they can manage the basics, but not much more.
However, the S2 has kept up remarkably well, keeping in mind that it's now two and a half years old. It's still a far superior phone to the S3 mini, and the S3 mini was only released last year.
