I'm glad to hear you managed to sort things out with AOKP it's a fantastic rom. I recently flashed the Tablet UI mod for AOKP on my phone and I'm loving the new features and additions, you should give it a try sometime.

Edit: I'm also using the latest Siyah kernel, working great so far.
 
Last night I installed CM9. Apart from Drive & Walk, things are looking pretty good.

I used Titanium backup, to restore Drive & Walk. On initial load, it works fine. After a re-boot of the phone, it just FC's when trying to open Drive & Walk.

Anyone got any idea on how to make it work permanently without having to restore from Titanium Backup each time I want to use it?

I didn't have this problem on MIUI, I just restored it and it worked.

ROFL. Didn't know I could do it. Chose 'Afrikaans' as my ROM's language. Took a second screen capture right after the first: see the notification message at the top. :p

I am Afrikaans, but I'm just too familiar with English on my phone and computer, I think I'll revert back to that soon.

I have re-installed Drive and Walk on my Stock ICS ROM - but how do I get my licenses, etc. back? Not to mention the preloaded maps, that I can see but which D&W doesn't?

Remix is now on 1.5? sheesh, Westcrip is doing his thing :) ...going to start the download now...so battery life with default kernel is good now? No need for Siyah?

From what I have read, the licences are in the Samsunglbs folder on the micro SD card. Do you still have this?

As for the maps. Can't you just re-download them?

The maps are also on the card but I haven't been able to load my licences. The maps on the card are also older versions so they are not compatible with the newer version of Route66 that's on the market.

Sorry can’t help. Every time I have installed/restored Drive & Walk , it has automatically picked up my licence; did you format your SD card or delete any folders from it? For the maps, can’t you just delete the maps from within the app, then re-download them?

On a different note. I fixed my problem. Should have heeded the warnings about using Titanium Backup. I wiped my phone, flashed CM9 again, then downloaded the APK from the below link. Used Easy Installer to side install the APK, everything now works beautifully.

Thanks that APK did the trick. Drive and Walk working again with my license activated.

Great, didn't understand you'd installed the app from the play store as apposed to the original Samsung version.
 
There are quite a number of kernels out there ... Stock, CF-Root, Siyah, NEAK, Speedmod ... etc
What kernel are you on and what is your opinion?

I have used both Siyah and CF-Root. Both are excellent kernels and I haven't had any problems with them. I'm currently using the latest Siyah kernel and so far everything is going well.
 
CF-root tends not to change anything, except add root, whereas Siyah tends to code mods into the kernel, to improve a number of things.

I flashed Siyah 3.1.2 about an hour ago ... I had the 3.1 rc6 version on my phone just before it was recalled because of it bricking phones, and overnight (23:00 - 06:00) it didn't drop a single percentage! So I first checked if 3.1.2 bricked phones before I flashed. A lot of people complain about FC's with stock camera, but I don't have that problem. I am on stock LPS with Siyah. I like the recovery mode menu compared to CF-Root. But if all else fails, I always go back to CF-Root

Hi there guys and gals, I was using Resurrection Remix v1.1, absolutely my favourite ROM. I tested a few before settling on that ROM. I recently upgraded to v1.5. I love the ROM but I am having SMS issues. Cant send sms's, I am receiving them fine.

I have updated the SMSC number a couple of times and it is still not working. Is anyone else having the same issues? Do you guys know any work arounds?

I am bust searching the thread at this very moment, just in case it has been brought up already. :-P

I'm not sure if it uses the same code as MIUI, but there to enter the SMSC number, you need to use a hex number and not a normal number. It was a schlep but I found a site that converts the normal number to hex. I don't know why they didn't just make it easy to enter the number as a normal number.
