So would LP8 be a better one....? I'm having Wifi Issues....

How about this one...: LP9

Good question. I am still on LPS. I like the responsiveness of the touch screen compared to some others I tried. I guess LP8 would be fine. I am also using Siyah kernel which seemingly gave me better wi-fi (but that could be just placebo effect). I will try NEAK kernel later when the new version comes out. The current one has issues with freezing when charging.

I don't know where you get your FW from. I get it from Intratech's thread on XDA. And I get my CF-root kernels from Chainfire's thread. As a rule when I flash a new FW, I do a nand backup first and the first kernel I flash is CF-Root. If that all works well and I find no issues, I try out some other kernels that suits performance or battery life better.

The Wanamlite ROM is LP9 and they use the CF-root LP8 kernel to prevent the critical error. Just read the last couple of pages of their thread/forum and you will know if there are issues with the combination. I tried Wanamlite once and was not really impressed so I reverted back to stock LPS.

I've been running the D4Rom for a week now (v10), and I'm ecstatic! You need to upgrade to a stock ICS baseband first, but from then on the CM9-based ROM takes over and rocks big time! It has the Siyah kernel as default, and as of the latest version you can enable tablet mode!

[ROM][4.0.4][AROMA][OTA][TABLET MODE] D4 Rom v10 - D4 Theme Engine v4.0 [29/04/2012]

Interesting that you mention this Rom. I have been contemplating installing it. I'm currently running Westcrips AOKP Rom with the Tablet UI mod and loving it so far. I probably would not go back to stock rooted roms anytime soon.

Why do you want to move? What is wrong with Ressurection-remix? Does it have the same/similar OTA feature selection?

There is nothing wrong with Westcrips Rom, just thought it would be nice to try something else. Resurrection Remix does not have any OTA features, what does that actually entails?

It sounds like CheckROM's kitchen. Decide what featutes you want and install

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a best rom. Everyone has their own preferences as to what they prefer, some swear by MIUI others ICS, Gingerbread or custom roms. I would suggest you try out some of the custom roms over at Xda until you find one that works for you.

In case your interested, I'm running Westcrips AOKP Rom, it works for me and I love it but it may not be to your liking. ;)

If you guys had a choice to replace your phone now, what would you get?
Another SII, a Galaxy Nexus or something else?

I am kinda leaning towards getting a Nexus.

I'd go Nexus. As much as I love my S2, I'd prefer the "pure Android" experience in future.

Why don't you look at the HTC One X? I am sure that, especially with a custom ROM, that phone will rock. It seems as though the S3 does not have much over the One X in terms of specs. Just don't like that you can't remove the battery. The other S3 benefits over One X seem like bells and whistles to me.

It sucks regarding your stolen phone! I have Android Lost and configured on my phone, I think that's good...

I'd stick with the S2 love the phone but in 2 years (contract up for renewal) there will be something far better :)

The Galaxy S2 is the best phone I ever owned & I think it will still be going strong in two years' time.

Loaded ICS on it again, it's insanely responsive and fast - and I've yet have to encounter an app that makes it stutter.

So yes, happy to skip the Galaxy S3 and get the S4 next year. ;)

Agreed, love the S2! Moved from a Nokia 3110 last year May. Thinking back, not sure how I survived ;)

Which ICS build did you load?

SGS2 Will probably be the best phone I'll ever own considering i don't have a contract & no upgrades :-( I moved from Nokia N95...
My ICS Build is: I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP5_XEU Guess I'm behind times :-)

Got an upgrade choice coming up this week.
Seems the consensus is that the S2 is a good choice?
