LPD installed. It has a new LPW modem and I don't know how well that will perform. I will test it for a day or so and if it is problematic, I will flash LPS modem back.

First impressions of LPD is that it is very similar to LPS and LP8. I would go so far as to say that scrolling is ever so slightly less sensitive than LPS, but still sensitive enough for my liking. There is no reason for me currently to go back to LPS other than JKay releasing his mod for LPS first ... decisions ... decisions ... decisions ... But I currently use ICS Domination theme with a couple of mods and it supports LPS, LP8 and LPD (amongst others). It does what I wanted from JKay and gives a sleek look to the phone - so JKay might not even play a factor any more. Will see what his mod looks like when it is released ... oh .. .and JKay is going to charge for his mod now

I can not tell you which version you should use. It is very much based on personal taste and unfortunately a question of hit and miss. I loved LPS and if there is any hint of misbehavour from LPD, I will restore LPS.
Thanks so much for the feedback well appreciated...I downloaded the latest Version of Ressurection 1.9.1 (One of your recommendations) while waiting for your review....Playing around with the ROM and has been installed on secondary ROM) Just in case lol i'm very happy with it so far no issues :-)

Has anyone else had a problem receiving (and possibly sending) MMSs on ICS? I'm on Lightning ROM, so that might also be where the problem lies.
It works fine on Wifi but not on mobile data. Have tried numerous APNs but nothing works.

Anyone else had this problem and know of a fix?

I upgraded to Resurrection Remix 1.9 two days ago. Loving it.

Just had a glitch with the sms thing, but found a fix on another website (also mentioned earlier in this thread). I seemed to have issues with bluetooth, but haven't tried again and I never use it in any case.

No other glitches found yet. Everyting just seems to be running smoothly.

Don't know if I'm imagining things, but since moving to this ROM I've had pretty bad reception issues. Not sure if I like it more than CM9 at the moment.

Also: I really hate the Google Play Music thing, CM9's is so much better.

I'm not so sure about this but the last 3 days i have had very bad receptionb but not just on my phone but also on my USB 3G...

Thanks for the heads up! I'll try it...I can send sms's but not more than one person at a time i.e. group sms's anyone here can give me a rundown on how to do this?...Thanks!

Well then that fix I posted shouldn't be the answer. I haven't tried group messaging so can't comment on that. Maybe try a different sms app?

This is true also, it just seemed worse with Resurrection Remix 1.9 :P

For those who has worse signal after flashing a rom, you can flash another modem and see if the signal improves. For SA the following modems work well: LPS, KI4, KL1
But often it is just the network acting up

does the s2 have a LED notifaction option like the lights on BB's?

Can anyone recommend a app in can use for this?

Siyah kernel has a BLN feature.

I'm going to use Resurrection for a few days to check it out, the reception issue I think is mainly MTN, since a few other colleagues also have reception issues.

On the Siyah topic: for some reason when I used the latest Siyah kernel on a CM9 nightly it wouldn't save the governor settings. Even when the 'set on boot' tickbox was ticked. Ah well, at least it works well with Resurrection Remix ;P
