I uninstalled NEAK - battery drain overnight is more than Siyah (between 2% and 4%). This is too high for me. When coming out of deep sleep, the response was very slow.

Then I tried Dorimanx 4.8B. I still believe I will move over permanently to this kernel, but the wifi signal is too weak with this kernel. So I am back on ol' trusty Siyah 3.3.3d

Yeak NEAKS 2.1 also drained my battery pretty quickly. DorimanXs Wi-Fi is a bit low compared to say fluxi's (whom is actually developing again) but very similar to Siyahs kernel. Also with Siyah's 3.3.3d I had many freezes and FC's.

Battery life on Dori's kernel drained 7% overnight (9hrs) last night. Wi-Fi off and 3g off.

Anyway... :)

I have uninstalled superuser and installed SuperSU - rumour has it it will prevent FC's on Siyah

Not really fair to say, since he did release 3.3.3 only recently and its still very popular and works without problems for most people

Cool thanks! It was a bit of touch and go there cos my laptop's screen resolution is 1024x600 and the bottom of odin with the start button is cut off -.- so I was pressing tab and enter each time to try and get start :p

Yes, I am also unhappy about that. All he wants to do now is get the kernel super stable and then there won't be more releases. But tbh, if I have a super kernel with excellent battery life which is stable, then I don't mind him concentrating on the S3

I must say that I am lucky not to have all the issues other's have. But then, I am on stock LPD

I thinks its pretty fair as he stated it himself that his focus will be more the S3 and gave his wife the S2 and didn't want any conflicts with her.

Yes its a new version of the kernel but still after what a grat kernel 3.3.2 was I find 3.3.3 a bit of a let down IMO.

Well okay maybe let down was a bit strong, don't get me wrong Siyah GM is a great developer but have had issues with his latest version. I understand he's trying to get a stable kernel and with that comes change and new code which may break or fix the problem that's trying to be solved. But in my setup which is CM9 1707 I have not had a great experience with 3.3.3 b,c,d. I have had FC's from quite a few programs, random SODs. but I guess DorimanX's has had those issues as well and many other kernel developers.

I found:
1. 3.3.3 not as fast as 3.3.2
2. Battery drained a little to fast for me (comparing defaults for myself)
3. FC's and SODs
4. Call Drops with where not there when using 3.3.2

Again I can not only blame kernel as many other factors could play a dramatic influence.

Siyah is a great kernel up to 3.3.2 and would I use it again yeah for sure. 3.3.2 is my backup kernel for when testing other kernels fall apart ;)

Anyway...

I see ... what is important is that one finds a combination that works for you.
 
Is it possible that the vibrator could vibrate less after putting the stock rom back on? Or maybe I'm imagining things but it feels less powerful :confused:

Yes it is possible. If rooted, you can set the vibration intensity with EXTweaks using Siyah or Dorimanx kernel

Ah that sounds familiar. I did have siyah and extweaks so it's possible that I played around with it. I guess I'll have to load them again for me to change it back. Will report back what happened.
