I tried to find and reproduce, but to no avail.

I actually wonder if you have another app monitoring the folder where Whatsapp images are stored, or even those cloud backup apps that want to save stuff.
I think you need to try figure out the actual app wanting to save the image to PDF. Hopefully you can see in the Recents App List.

I removed all permissions from Adobe reader. Seems to have fixed it

I have a S22+ the battery doesn't last me till 6pm (X, YouTube, browser, camera). The S24 trade in looks like a sweet deal, will that be a downgrade?
