Samsung Galaxy S3

Updated to Polish JB about an hour ago.
Very impressed with the responsiveness of everything but especially the apps. Loading super fast.

Will have a look at battery life over the next day or two.

No bugs to report. Yet.

Nah thats not right dude. I had the same issues with mine and managed to sort it out, I now get between 24 - 40 hours.

My issues ended up being: Lama, Onavo, wifi on all the time. This sorted out my issues.

O and turn off the lock sound and power saving. I found this drained battery.

Since updating to Polish JB, my battery has definitely increased. Took it off the charger at 4h30 this morning and currently sitting at 40% power.. that's 17hrs of quite moderate usage including using the camera.

Onavo I can get by without. Llama and Wi-Fi not.
Besides, phone showing long deep sleeps yet still 10% PH drain. That's nuts.

I did a bare bones ICS stock flash and only installed BetterBatteryStats. Still 8 to 10% PH drain on screen off.

The longer charging issue I had when I upgraded to JB with the media scanner bug.
With the media scanner chugging along hogging the CPU the charge is slower as it is being used excessively while trying to charge. If you are having the same issue use Rescan Media Root to disable the media scanner.

I'm very impressed with Omega JB ROM. Went to bed last night at around about 23:30 with battery on 93%. Woke up at 6:00 with battery on 92%.

I disabled the media scanner. Not sure what it's function is really.
 
can anyone help with a WIFI problem??

Running stock ICs etc.... CF rooted.

I am having on and of problems with my wifi network at work.... Dare i say the Iphones dont experience this...

Some days, even for weeks when i get to work, my wifi will simply give me a message to sign into wifi network, although it shows connected. its just not able to do anyting. For the last few days it was working fine and now this morning the same BS again....

PLEASE HELP!

Sorry boet, I've been fortunate enough to not have any wifi issues, so I've not needed to dig into causes and solutions to problems like this. Must be very frustrating, good luck.

Do a reset or flash more current firmware on. Personally, I recommend Omega v27.1. If you like stock Samsung and the benefits of rooting, there's no better option.

From what I can tell it scans your phone for new media in order to add it to your gallery, media player etc
 
oh how i soo regret changing my modem on JB!!!:mad:...my network coverage is non-existent as it frequently changes between Vodacom roaming and CellC (1 signal bar to none). Changed to stock JB modem (XXDLIB) and no change :twisted: Battery life now plummeting by the minute! :cry:

Any recommendations?

I wondered if my battery problems were not related to me flashing modems. You may have just confirmed it.

I have downloaded a few modems and trying them out to see if anything improves.
Will keep the thread updated if it does.
