Samsung Galaxy S3

Can I flash a new UK or SA JB rom on my rooted Polish JB rom, or do I have to revert to stock and then flash?

Also, if I want to backup all of my apps and messages and restore these after I flash, how could I go about doing this? I've heard of Titanium Backup being the solution but I'd appreciate some advice here as I've never done this before...

Yes, you could flash straight over, then root again

I use Titanium Backup, bought from the Play store. There are others I believe that do the same job, I've not looked into those.
TB will do a complete backup of your system, apps and data, and you can restore app & data or one or the other only after an update. Most of these updates are non wipe, so you usually lose no data, but full backup is always recommended in case.

Anyone know what the "user_low_ship" in the tar file name of the latest UK release means/refers to?

edit: i still don't know why Samsung have named this file a bit odd, flashed it, running fine, CF Root 6.4 and touch recovery 6.0.1.2 works fine too.

I can also confirm Triangle Away v2.10 works fine.

What modem is most people running on their s3? Asking for a friend with a s3

Tks in advance

Hey guys. I don't know if this has already been posted, if it was, sorry. Got my S3 yesterday and wanted Jelly Bean right away. Did a bit of reading on XDA and stuff.

Here is the link for the video is watched:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PSt8b5D2dM

According to the video flashing with odin doesn't void your warranty. So I did some searching and found a site:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300. Latest updates from Samsung.

Yesterday the France (XEF) ROM released on 17.10.2012 was the latest one. I downloaded it and flashed it to my phone with odin and everything is working perfectly. No problems. Didn't have to root or install CWM.

According to the Youtube video, if you have an international version of the S3 (GT-I9300) the ROM will work. The polish ROM she flashed in the video is also on the Samsung site but seemed a bit outdated to me so I used the latest own.

Hope this cleared up some stuff.:)

I rate MyBackup Pro over Titanium. It has a seriously simple interface, provides a decent toolbox if rooted and works fine if you ever decide to go stock and unrooted.

I have a serious problem. Even after updating to Jelly Bean, I still can't download anything from Play Store. The moment I click accept and download, the signal drops from HSDPA to 3G and refuses to download. It just gives me an error a few minutes later after trying. This is the same issue I had on ICS. I tried fixing permissions, deleting the cache, and the daw-something-cache. Nothing has worked...:(

Does downloading over wifi work?

Does downloading over wifi work?

Nope. It also doesn't download. I can browse just fine but not download. The other issue is that in Samsung Apps I constantly have to login. It never remembers the login, so it was previously suspected that something is up with it remembering the logins...

EDIT: wait, it downloads perfectly fine on WIFI. It's only on mobile that it refuses to download...

Delete download manager, Google services, and play store cache. Reboot.

It's that doesn't try wiping dalvik cache.

If that doesn't work full wipe, re flash.

I assume you've googled this problem.

DJ... Check the proxy settings for the APN you are using. If theres anything there, remove it.

I had a similar issue. Are you Rooted?
Did you do a titanium recover after you loaded JB?
If yes, delete Play store and re flash JB, then in titanium when doing recover. Choose not to recover play store.

My battery drain overnight is over 30%
All apps closed - nothing running in the backround
Not rooted - Stock ICS

Should I flash JB and if so which version?

thats alot of drain
are you leaving mobile data on?
auto or gsm only?
and hows the signal in your area?

if the signal is not so good.it'l keep looking for 3g signal(if on auto) and that uses abit of extra power
not sure if 30% tho

Check your battery stats and make sure Media isn't using more than it should.

Mine kept my phone active all night again last night, had to force stop it this morning.
