Samsung Galaxy S3

So still no Luck for an Official 4.2.2 ?

Don't want to loose warranty on the S3 otherwise i must trade in fro a S4 :p

Couple issues with my S3...

1) When clicking on a link outside of chrome (such as email) it opens chrome window but in privacy mode. Which would be fine but for some reason privacy mode results in a severely darkened brightness level.

2) My google maps voice doesn't say street names. Just "turn left in 100 metres".

3) Is there a good way to backup everything, without rooting, so that I could get a new phone and be back up and running as is?

1) Change your browser

2) Change your maps app

3) No

Yes and I am pretty sure it doesn't need root . The app is called carbon and it works in conjunction with a desktop app. I switched from my old S3 to my S4 yesterday with no hassles.

Only way of getting 4.2.2 is custom or leaked. Samsung not releasing 4.2.2

Why do people want 4.2.2 so badly? I've had it for months and don't use any of the new features.

Thats why I use Rootbox which is vanilla android 4.2. People just want to be on the latest and greatest of what it has to offer even if they wont use most of the functions

I'm on CM 10.1. Is Rootbox AOSP? I tried Supernexus briefly which is, and it was pretty miserable. Vanilla Android leaves a lot to be desired.

Notification toggles. The single most useful feature added in Android since they started. Try living without them for a while once you've had them.

I hav no problems doing conference call. When calling 1st person wait till they answer then do add call and call 2nd person. As soon as 2nd person answers a merge button should show and viola. Usually works 4 me.

Dont forget that conference calling is network dependant. So if it still not working and ask if activation of service maybe needed from network.

If U use most of the functions that samsung has to offer then I can understand why 2 u it leaves much 2 be desired. But with vanilla android the phone is much more responsive without bloatware. I never used multi window and direct call. Even less that eye tracking functions. My phone is almost lag free with rootbox. Halo also a very nice addition that helps with mutitasking like receiving message while browsing internet you can view the message without having to worry about reloading of webpage cause message opens on smaller overlay window with full navigation capabilities

I've entered the incorrect email on my Samsung account so I cannot verify the email is correct after an update. How can I correct this?

Edit: Deleted the account and readded.

Something strange started happening with my phone. This damned S Voice popping up randomly and going into driving mode :( I've Googled a bit, and it seems like it could be dirty USB contacts. Will check those out tonight.

Now, even with auto-rotate disabled, anything on the display rotates to whichever direction I hold the phone, even upside down. Eve the lock screen :erm: I flip it sideways, it's like a tablet, with the drawer icons on the side, everything working perfectly.

EDIT: As you can see, it even optimizes the weather/clock widget for landscape layout.

As far as I now if a galaxy s3 is connected into car dock mode the homescreen rotates. Do you hav a app installed to fool the phone into car dock mode? Or it can be faulty connecter as the phone most probably activated car dock mode.

I've never installed anything to fool the phone into doing something, but I agree, it is probably the USB connector. I remember now that I tried to plug the charger in the wrong way around :o Went in there with a toothpick, cleaned it out a bit, seems fine now.
