Samsung Galaxy S3

Have the bugs been ironed out?

I haven't run into many, so no idea. I rely on third party apps for everything, so can't comment on the system apps either. I had my screen die on me twice, but no issues for several days now.

So I'm considering getting the s3 as the s4 is out of my price range and don't see myslef using all the features on the s4, the only thing drawing me to the s4 is the 13mp camera, thoughts?

Go for it. I got mine a month ago and it is a great phone still.

I've had mine since launch and honestly this phone is still rocking. Solid performance, camera is awesome. It's a steal

I also got mine at launch, and it's still running perfectly. Granted, I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.2. My mom also has an S3 and I was shocked at how sluggish it was when I helped her with something the other day. I was also surprised at how ugly everything looked compared to Nova Launcher Prime with the widgets and custom icons on my phone. I've grown so used to my phone that I forget it's customised. Imo you've got to tinker to get the best experience - stock is not that great aesthetically and performance wise.

Ive been using mine for a year now and its still a gr8 device. Go for S3 you cant go wrong at the price its going for.

S3 is a serious piece of kit. The S4's screen is amazing, but so is the S3's :) As the guys have mentioned, you have to tinker to gain the most out of your device.
I'm running Rootbox 4.2 and LOVING IT!

Yo just thought I would share. Using a rom called neat rom. Touch wiz based minus bloat ware. Based on 4.1.2. I cannot believe the battery life I'm getting its insane. 22 hours. On 46% now. Moderate use. Wifi on. 3g on. Gps on. Screen brightness at half. Used tapatalk. Facebook. Gmail. Firefox today and still going strong. Rom is amazingly stable. If anyones looking for amazingly good battery life... give this a try.

Sounds good. Not sure I wanna go back to 4.1.2. though. Me wants 4.3 :D

thanks for the feedback, I got my s3 yesterday so far very happy with it, apparently I can go to the samsung store in Gateway and upgrade the android software, it was mentioned that I must register the phone? Is this for warrenty purposes or for the software?

Not sure about getting the update from the Samsung store, I upgraded mine myself. What Android version did it ship with? Seem to remember mine coming with 4.0 IceCreamSandwich

Glad to see we haven't been forgotten :) Poor Note2 owners though

More like poor Samsung-owners-running-stock-firmware. There's a whole world of joy out there to experience people. Even if you have a warranty, you can use Triangle Away to reset your custom flash counter and just reflash official firmware back on if you need to return a faulty device.

The Note 2 owners will eventually also get 4.3, but I think from a profit making view it will probably be a month or two after the release of the Note 3. I'm sure Samsung would want to cash in on sales for the Note 3 and prolong the 4.3 release with the hope that Note 2 owners will upgrade to the Note 3.

Personally the only reason why I would get the Note 3 is for the Samsung 4.3 Rom. Hopefully 4.3 will be released by January so that I can keep my Note 2. In the meantime I'm enjoying AOSP 4.3 on my phone.
