Samsung Galaxy S3

Strange. Mine came with the phone and I had to send the invoice I got with with the delivery to the lady at MTN Business. Been a few hours and my old sim is still active, new one only emergency calls.

Will give it a day. Thanks for the info.

0-24 hours. On vodacom I got an sms saying that the request had been submitted. And then a message when it was complete (which you would already know). I had to specifically ask for the migration after receiving the phone since they need the sim number.

I like the flip case for the S3 but I use my S3 as a GPS in the car at least 6 days a week. Which means I will have to fold the front part backwards. That will definately last very long.

Do you use a cradle, if so which one? I was thinking about getting the official one.

Got the S3 today, but the screen seems to be damaged. There is black tint on part of the screen. Only noticed it when viewing white backgrounds.

Sucks :(

Vodacom will be replacing though.

Unlucky man... hope they sort you out real quick.

Probably the first thing I install and run on all my Android devices is "Dead Pixel Test" by UJACHA.
Probably the most basic app you get, but quickly reveal any display issues.

Edit: Looking at a full 19.63KB app here :-)

lol

Thanks for the tip, will definitely give a bash going forward. The issue I experienced however was quite obvious, once OperaMini (eg.) was launched. It looked like a screen damaged by a strong magnet of sorts. Hopefully the replacement will arrive early next week.

Don't you check your phone in store when you purchase it?

I never walk out of a store without checking that everything is working properly. Even if it takes a hour or more.

I've learned my lesson with a Sony Experia X1 a few years ago.

Was delivered without a micro sim. Went in to vodashop today for the sim swop. So when I picked it up it was too late already.

I got one today, coming from a Nokia N8, Android is a little strange at first but easy to get along with.

I have one issue with whatsapp and my contacts though. I had to do a sim swap at Vodacom and when the new sim starting working I had no contacts, so I let the phone import from Google and Facebook, no problem there, however only contacts that I added manually to the sim or a few that I linked show up in whatsapp. So instead of the 40 odd contacts I had before I now only have 8. I've tried re-syncing and showing hidden contacts in whatsapp says I have none. Anyone come across something similar?

I took out my iPhone 4S this afternoon to send a friends some links that was saved on it. The iPhone just feels so much more solid and stylish than the S3 but it can't compare with the speed and display quality of the S3.

I don't know what to do with my iPhone. Do I sell it? Do I keep it?

The thing is it doesn't matter which one I use, they are both awesome phones. I don't care what anyone say, the S3 and 4S is on par.

Yes, both of them have something that's better than the other but you won't be disappointed with either of them.
