New to Android, so bear with me

Is it possible to stream videos from your pc, or other pc's connected to you WIFi, to your S3

I'm using Plex Media Server on my pc with plex client on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and S3. Works like a dream.

Over the same LAN - yes just share the folders and you good to go.

Over the net - i am pretty certain you can - i just havent done it.

Go to the samsung store at gateway, paid R180 for the iluv cover they also had screen protectors i think. Cover is nice and thin, easy to grip and it is slightly raised above the screen.

You looking for one of those uglifying permanent casings or just a pouch? Because the Vodashops sell normal vertical pouches, got mine when I bought the phone.

You can do it with upnp (and openelec/xbmc). Search for bubble upnp. Works well.

Also the file sharing way, check out ES File explorer.

The modern battery's used by today's phones don't require that anymore. Service providers don't educate their staff since they still recommend the 16 hours over night charge.

Edit: Just got my flip cover from Vodashop, they are damn expensive R359.00!

Hey guys,

I'm currently living in the UK and my mom just got a free upgrade on MTN and she sent me the white Galaxy S3 as a gift. It has the MTN shrink wrap still on it and I havn't opened yet as I'm considering selling it. Does anyone know if its likely to be network locked and also if there is any physical or OS branding?

Any information would be much appreciated.

As far as I know network locking is not legal in SA.

Found a glitch that I managed to resolve, I recently re-installed the Facebook app, I told it to only sync with my existing contacts yet it continued to add all my Facebook friends to my Contacts.

Facebook account sync was disabled in the Sync section, I could see the Facebook group in the Contact Groups tab. I then went to the Contact tab, menu -> Contacts to Display

Facebook was listed there as well, I went in and found it was unticked though my much larger Contacts list disagreed. I then ticked it and unticked it, problem solved!
