I'm currently living in the UK and my mom just got a free upgrade on MTN and she sent me the white Galaxy S3 as a gift. It has the MTN shrink wrap still on it and I havn't opened yet as I'm considering selling it. Does anyone know if its likely to be network locked and also if there is any physical or OS branding?

The phones are not network locked and unlike Vodacom the Mtn S3 has no OS branding.

Both of those should be available at Vodashops. Pouch is R209 and screen protectors I don't know since I've never used one. But they they are definitely at the Vodashop in Brooklyn, PTA where I got mine.
 
Anyone know if the FNB version is the 32gig model and what the colour is ?
 
Just took delivery of my brand spanking new S3 this morning! White model with 32GB onboard. Charging as I type this :D
 
I see that Incredible Connection has the S3 on promotion this week. R7699 on prepaid, or R299 pm. on Vodacom's Everyday off peak 120.

Silly question: How do I connect my phone and use it as a modem on my PC? Thing is microsim wont fit in USB stick without sim-adaptor.

Not quite as simple as the Nokia/Blackberry way. Any advice?

Does your PC have wireless? If so then just use the S3 as a hotspot.

You mean tethering?

1. Plug in USB cable
2. Go to settings-more settings - Tethering and portable hotspot. Then tap the switch next to "USB tethering".
3. Done.

This is the easiest way to do it for sure.

That's weird - I distinctly recall my nearest Incredible having the S3 for R7499 two weeks ago. I ended up buying from Cellucity because I was in a hurry (Incredible was the other side of the centre, I was going away and it was nearly closing time) and they discounted the phone and official cover so that they would cost the same together at Incredible.

Strange. Mine came with the phone and I had to send the invoice I got with with the delivery to the lady at MTN Business. Been a few hours and my old sim is still active, new one only emergency calls.

Will give it a day. Thanks for the info.
