The feel, its lighter than I expected but really love the feel.
The user interface is brilliant. Coming from the HTC desire I thought it would take a while to get used to touchwiz considering how often people have said that its not the best interface but thus far I am enjoying it.
The clarity on the pictures is unbelievable!
Love the screen, everyone who has seen it especially here in the office immediately comments about the screen.
Just a few points...
hmmm the reason why I ask is because I was thinking of not getting it seeing as its not really AMAZING just slightly better than much cheaper things out there like the S2 or HTC One S if that ever comes here, or the Razr or Razr Maxx. might just get one of those and save my money for when something better comes along at the end of the year or next year

so is it worth it to do the S3 @ R400 per month on MTN? I can't seem to rationalise that amount per month. while it is affordable, I hardly use my R200 airtime per month as it is. Should I just go for the S2 upgrade @ R279 per month from MTN? I know its 'old tech', but I'd appreciate some comments, especially from those who went S2 to S3.

Why not go for one of the better contracts on offer @ Vodacom?

Got mine yesterday. Havent had much time to play with it but I'm loving it. Its my first andriod phone. Had a iphone 4 before. Never thought I'd love Android this much!

I took a contract at vodacom Topup 315. I didnt want their special deals for the phone so I just asked for the regular 315 as I will convert the airtime to bundles anyway since I dont call much. I also paid the difference in R3500. Works out much cheaper than their current deal on topup 315 +250mbs for R499.

The Vodacom contracts are just as crap. It costs R350/month for which you get ZERO minutes, ZERO sms'es and something pitiful like 200MB of data per month...

Huh? I got this pricing:

SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 WHITE + 250 MB DATA PM X 24 @ R159 PER MONTH + SUBSCRIPTION ON TALK 240 ( TOTAL R589 PM ) <-- I was paying almost double that on my HTC Desire contract which didn't come with any bundled data (my usage is around 200 - 300MB pm) and I don't really make that many calls.

Ok so after a weekend of use.. the battery life has improved.. device is so light i sometimes forget i have it ..
With it looking so delicate and all I'm Seriously thinking of getting a cover for it... any suggestions... Flip cover doesnt kick it...
Also anyone putting screen protectors? Didnt put one on my note and the display is still scratch free...

The camera is brilliant.. no lag when shooting and its instant...

I miss the size of my Galaxy Note... but slowly getting used to the s3.

Biggest Plus is the LED Notification lights... on the White they look awesome...
Biggest Gripe at the moment is NO Scrolling Wallpapers...

So wait, you're saying that a contract for almost SIX HUNDRED RAND is better than the R350 one? Well duh.

And I'm sorry but if you paid over R1000 per month for an htc Desire you must have been smoking something strong.... That's 24-25 grand.

Well if you're just going to look at the phone then yes, the Business contract is probably the best route. But if you are going to use the phone the extra minutes only compliment the R1200 you'll be saving in phone subsidies.

And with regards to my HTC Desire contract, the contract & hardware subsidy came up to around R490 (Was a Talk 350), the rest was billable minutes/data. Going through Nashua Mobile also made matter worse when trying to apply for additional data bundles as they couldn't be added automatically and had to be re-instated each month.

Which was my point. The equivalent Vodacom contracts are even worse.

You do get 200/250MB of data on the Business Call though.

Those contracts are terrible anyway.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 WHITE @ R184 PER MONTH + SUBSCRIPTION ON EVERYDAY
OFF-PEAK 120 (PER MINUTE BILLING) ( TOTAL R319 PM ) + A prepaid sim is much better :p

That's a great phone. Specs not as good as the GSIII but it does feel a lot more solid and it has better colours. The deal, not so good. 100MB of data for the 1st 3 months? After that you better get out the Vaseline for the OOB rates.
I was thinking of tossing the sim and just using it on prepaid paying R200pmx24 works out to only R4800 for the phone. Unless I can buy it cash for cheaper.

But lets see maybe Cell C can bring out a better Galaxy S3 deal

I'm going to do this as well. Use my to up airtime to buy data. Which you can't do on MTN.

Fyi, comparing contracts is one thing and comparing hardware costs another. Consider the two separately first. Its more important to get the right contract then the cheapest hardware pay in. Once you've decided on the correct contract/s then you can compare the hardware cost on those contracts across networks/sp's

No man, I don't want to pay more than R350. I may have to go for the HTC One X instead.
