Lock the device using the affected security types mentioned above.

Well day 1 complete with the 4.2.2, working pretty well so far. In hindsight though it's not offering me anything other than the satisfaction of being on the latest Android version, more of a superficial feeling of accomplishment than progress. Maybe I'm missing out on something?
 
I can highly recommend wanamlite 7, based on the recent 4 2 2 leak, much better than the leak. Do a search on xda

I've been running the cm10.1 nightlies, and it's awesome. I had a look at some ones S3 running stock Samsung firmware and boy is touchwiz really ugly.

One thing I have noticed though is that the camera and battery life on touchwiz is better than cm10.1.

I can understand the camera, but not sure why the battery life is worse.

I found my Google Maps was misbehaving on cm10.1. Froze it and things improved.

The battery life is why I went back to stock. CM10.1 jsut wasn't lasting long enough.
 
I just want to share my experience

My stock S3 suddenly got the phone freeze/hanging which made the phone hang until I restarted it. At first I thought it was titanium backup pro as it was the last app that I installed before the hanging started to happen, but after removing titanium backup the hanging continued.

I then googled and found that my kernel was to blame, apparently my phone had a "bad" kernel. I first tried to fix the problem by using dummy file generator but that did not help as my phone still hanged. I then decided updated my kernel to XXEMC2 and since then no hanging/freezes.

also had the same problem thanks for the tip. Least i know what to do.
