Samsung Galaxy S3

So my phone beeps every night when fully charged. I am exercising all my self-restraint NOT to throw this POS out of the goddamn window. Has anyone got a solution for this other than put the phone on silent or turn it over or charge it before going to bed?

Would you mind it being on silent while on charge? would be easy to set it up to go auto silent until you unplug it.

BTW is it just one beep? I put my phone on charge every night before going to sleep, it has never woken me or the wife.

Well you don't need to need to do it, an app can do it for you. Anywhoo I was going to suggest you use Llama to mute it at 98% and turn it back up at 100% to see if that solves it.

Other than that I would look at turning system sound (think that is the sound you hear) down so that it doesn't wake you, sms and rings should not be affected.

I need all notifications on all the time, except this ASS-FUKKING battery full notification which has no clear way to be disabled. I have now set the default notification sound to Silent, and I'll hold thumbs that it works. This should be a default setting in Android, I don't want to have to jump through hoops to disable something stupid such as this. :(
 
Is your phone rooted Slootvreter?
If yes, maybe look for the battery_full sound in /system/media/sounds/ui and rename the file.

Just put some decent firmware on your phone. I've run all the popular ROM's and can't recall ever being awoken by a charging notification.

If you Google, you'll find that this is quite a widespread issue. I do NOT want to have to flash another ROM just for this.

Looks like the default sound file is called S_Harmonics.ogg in /system/media/audio/notifications

The updated link only silences the battery notification. It was actually designed for people with the exact opposite situation to you, but I'm sure you can configure it to turn off the notification as well.

Of course as an alternatively you (or someone out there) could develop a little app to do exactly what you want, i.e. intercept the battery change status and stop the system from receiving it.

My problem is that I have to install a bloody third-party app to disable this rediculous 'feature' Samsung thought wise to implement. This is a high-end device, you would have thought that this could be disabled, but no, it's apps, ROMS, phone on silent, etc etc. What utter bull**** is this. Fuk you Samsung. This small thing made me change my mind about this phone :(
 
Is the battery full volume determined by the system volume slider? At the idle home screen, hit volume up/down and then hit the little cog that appears next to the slider. There is a system volume slider there. Turn that down?
