Not significantly, unless you have a runaway application. Background data with gmail, exchange, Facebook, Google backup, etc is on average 5-10meg per day.

More of a frequency of connection issue then magnitude of data. Also all the time your data radio is on its sucking juice.

Download my data manager, will give you a slightly more detailed look at your data usage.

I still haven't received the OTA update? Where do you check for it? under the about section?

Yep, settings --> about device --> software update --> update ... it should check for u.
Roll out of the updates inconsistent since its OTA so if its not available just give it a lil more time :)

U could also connect your phone to your PC and launch KIES. it should check automatically if an update is available.

After the update my "Kies via Wi-Fi" no longer works. The resolution on the net seems to be to reset the phone. I haven't really used it much, so I doubt I'd miss it.

Then with duties and tax probably comes close to that price.

This happened to me with my HTC Desire case that cost R200 with shipping but ended up R300 after tax and duties. Add to this the fact that I had to go collect it at Cape Mail which made me not want to go the ebay route too often.

There isn't a cent in duties or vat to be paid. Duties only apply on bigger parcels and those sent by registered mail. These are sent in tiny envelopes, delivered right to your postbox most of the time. Even when they have to be collected from the Post Office, these is nothing to pay.

I have ordered cell phone accessories over two dozen times from Ebay and never had to pay a cent here.
 
Just flashed CM10 Preview 8, camera and video recording is working without any issues albeit without sound.

CM10 is a perfect daily driver for me now.

Your parcel was probably sent registered mail or the value on it was high, which is why it was stopped.
They don't bother stopping small envelopes with low values.

Don't let this one bad experience stop you from using Ebay; there are tons of bargains to be found there.
Cellular cases cost $1 or $2 compared to R100-R200 here, generic batteries R25 compared to R150 here etc
This is in addition to having a huge range to choose from.

Ordering 5 cases for my S3, as well as 5 more cases as gifts for family members is cheaper than buying one locally.
 
I can confirm. Setting Llama to disable my phone's data connection when the screen goes off definitely saves data, and lots of it.

I also have Onova running which also helps me saving on data.

I will post detailed images with figures after the weekend.

Not an isolated event. I ordered Galaxy Tab covers from the States to the tune of about 1.5k, same story.

Maybe my address has been placed on some kind of list which makes them think I'm an importer?

Might try order something small again to see if it makes it here. Used ebay extensively when I was living in the UK, so I do miss the bargains to be had there.
